Semara: :: A huge, brilliant smirk ::  You tell 'im, Michaels.  :: putting on overdramatic, grinning airs ::  How dare you question if I - Amelia Magnolia Semara, Daughter of the Valley of the Sapphire-Crowned Sun, heiress to the Golden Leaf of Semizad, Officer in service of our Grand Fleet of the Stars - have scruples.   :: Beat, then a laugh :: Y'all need to realize I really don't care to go pillaging the great golden palaces of your minds for the forbidden secret of what cards you hold, all for the enormous and irreplaceable wealth of... :: Counting, then an over-sincere face :: Twelve caramel candies. Make that fourteen candies.  :: A high-pitched sing-song voice. ::  Call.

Ras wasn’t going to win this hand. But he made an effort so the others thought he was going to.

El’Heem: Forza? I’m game if you are.

Forza: Response

Zerva: Ha, ha, very funny. Seriously though, after the two of you mentioning being new here, I think I’m oldest of the five us in terms of service time? I’m pretty sure we’ve all been here for less than a year?

Matthews: Aboard the Khitomer? I’m pretty sure that’s the case, her being a new ship. But how many of you were aboard the Arrow together? Some of you must have been together for longer than a year right?

Michaels: You have been here longer than I have.

Semara: I was on a biological survey about 18 months before bein' posted here.  That's pretty different though.  :: A smile :: Guess that makes you the old hand. You have been here longer than I have.

Froza: Response

El’Heem: I’ve been here for nine. I did see the arrow off on her penultimate journey. Ezra had been there awhile before me, but I’m not sure it was by much. Why?

Zerva: The reason I mention it, because my one year anniversary arriving on the Khitomer, err the Arrow at the time, from the Academy is this week. Plus my birthday is the day after.

Michaels: Indeed. Then feliz cumpleaños to ::beat:: Excuse me. Happy birthday to you, Mr. Zerva.

Semara: :: A big smile :: Felicitations!

Matthews: Oh, happy womb emancipation day.

El’Heem: Womb emancipation day is crazy, Richard. Congratulations and Happy Birthday, comrade.

Forza: Response

Zerva: ::nods:: Thank you for birthday wishes. I was wondering if you’d all like to celebrate with me? The whole crew is invited of course. There’s this place cadets go around the block from the Academy in San Francisco. I’m sure you’ve all been there during your time at the Academy? They’ve got drinks, wings, music, pool, pinball and Karaoke. What do you guys think? I’m sure we’ve got some time between the refit and the wedding.

Semara: That sounds delightful!  :: Beat :: Happy to lend a hand if it helps, Michaels...  Would hate for you to miss out if you want to come. It would be pleasant. I am uncertain how much time I have. The refit requires more Engineering attention than I had originally anticipated.

Matthews: Gosh, so many parties this shore leave. I’m game.

El’Heem: Don’t act like you don’t like it. I’ll be there Ezra.

Forza: Response

Semara: Well, now that's settled, I'm itchin' to know where this hand goes next.  I'm real curious what's got Forza here so interested in my scruples...  :: A playful, smirking glare at the man. ::

El’Heem: I hope we’re all on the same page for what scruples means. We’ve really been walking a fine line the entire night.

Semara/Michaels/Forza/Zerva: Response

Matthews: Sorry, just, is that before or after the wedding we’re all invited to for the chief engineer?

Zerva: Response

Matthews: And who else is going to that? I figured I’d attend the ceremony. I don’t know about the party, I do need to try to meet more people and not be such a recluse.

El'Heem: You’re hardly a recluse. You’re just sassy. I’ve been asked by the lovely bride to be a part of the wedding, so of course I’ll be there.

He felt this was as good as time as any to get Semar’s attention.

oO Speaking of the wedding, I have a proposition for you, Semara. Oo

He hoped that’s how it worked. He’d just have to wait and see.

Forza/Michaels/Semara/Zerva: Response

oO Uhhh no not that type of proposition. Why is everyone on this ship so suggestive? Anyways, I have some business to discuss with you, that you may be interested in. Oo

Matthews: Oh shoot, more gift getting, I’m the worst at that. This is why I miss living in the 2000s. Gift cards were a lifesaver.

Forza/Michaels/Semara/Zerva: Response

oO I’ll talk to you at the wedding. Oo

If their eye contact wasn’t telling enough, Ras nodded to Semara. Then purposefully looked away and back at the table.

El'Heem: I’m unsure what a gift card is, but if it’s a convoluted way to say you’re giving a card as a gift, I think that’s still in fashion, no?

Matthews: :: Shrugging :: Would like to get something, it only seems polite. Anyway. I have no idea what I’m doing now. But I’m itching to throw down the cards and commence with learning through trial by fire! In adversity or something like that, we learn and grow, and I will figure out this game through trial and error if need be.

El'Heem: ::pausing awkwardly as a show of dramatism:: Alright, well that was dramatic. This game is going to take all night at this right. And with Richard’s lovely flair, who wouldn’t want to be here?

Ras flashed Richard a sarcastic faux smile.

Forza/Michaels/Semara/Zerva: Response

Matthews: Inspirational speeches are for commanders and department heads. Go to them if you want poetry. Come to me for advice, questionable advice yes, but good advice.
