((The next morning))
Karsyn opened his eyes and everything was hazy for a moment and then cleared up. He turned to check on his wife and she seemed comfortably asleep, supposedly at least. She would occasionally pretend to be and surprise him if he tried to leave the bed. He reached towards his PADD on the nightstand and picked it up. The screen filled with operational reports on the Khitomer and deck layouts. He figured he would get reading done, because when Val woke up she would demand attention almost immediately.
Some time later the blonde next to him stretched, arching her back and flexing her toes, before her eyes fluttered open and she rolled onto her side, snuggling close to him and resting her head on his chest.
He set down his PADD on the nightstand and placed his hand along her bicep area holding her close.
K. Croix: Good morning.
Valora peeked up at him, face groggy and hair a mess. She sort of groaned a half recognizable word at him.
V. Croix: coffeeee
K. Croix: Well, we’re going to have to get up for that.
His wife grumbled and snuggled her face into his chest. The only thing that could be understood was a pretty pouty "Nuh uh".
K. Croix: Well okay then. That settles that.
Val slid away from him just enough to rest her head on a pillow and then she shoved at his side with her hands as if she'd push him out of the bed.
V. Croix: coffeeee
Karsyn let out a quiet sigh. He stood up and went to make coffee. He came back a few minutes later with two and handed her a mug.
K. Croix: Here you go.
He sat on the bed and took a sip.
Val lifted herself up just enough to sip at her mug, eyes mostly closed. Her inability to be a functioning morning person was well known to Karsyn.
He shot a glance over to Val.
K. Croix: How’s the coffee?
V. Croix: Mmmmm. Thank you mi amore. (my love)
K. Croix: Je t'en prie. (You’re welcome)
V. Croix:: What were you reading?
As the caffeine began to wake her, Val sat up and settled back against the headboard of their bed.
K. Croix: I was reading the specs and operations reporting on the Khitomer.
She smiled at him and took another sip.
V. Croix: Do you need to keep reading?
He shook his head.
K. Croix: I don’t
V. Croix: :: grinning:: Good. I have plans!
He arched an eyebrow.
K. Croix: Please continue…
V. Croix: Well first, I thought we'd take a shower. ::smiles suggestively:: Then we can go to that adorable little cafe on the corner and maybe shop until lunch then spend the afternoon on the beach.
K. Croix: And then take another shower after the beach?
V. Croix: Of course. We will be covered in sand.
K. Croix: Let’s do it.
V. Croix: After coffee.
She scooted across the bed, settling herself between his legs and leaned back to rest against his chest.
He placed his hands on her abdomen area and kissed the top of her head then tickled Val’s sides.
K. Croix: Are we going to get moving?
V. Croix: As soon as I finish my coffee.
Knowing why her husband was impatient to get the day started she emptied her mug with a final long sip and looked up at him with a sweet smile.
He took her mug and set it on the nightstand next to his own.
K. Croix: There
Boisterous energy now intact, Valora hopped off the bed and disappeared into the bathroom to start the shower.
Following her into the bathroom, Karsyn lifted off his shirt first and turned to his wife.
Val was amazed sometimes by her husband's physique, but even more so at how attracted they still were to each other after nearly 200 years of marriage. After an appreciative gaze that lingered on his abs, Val let her skimpy nightgown fall to the floor and stepped into the shower.
