((OOC: This takes place while Indobri is examining Qinn. Following this scene is when Indobri examines Sival, then Tito arrives for his physical.... Indobri had suggested Sival tour the ship's medical facilities, so he did.  :)  ))

(( Main Medical, Deck 7, USS Juneau ))

Sival’s encounter reporting in with Doctor Indobri was agreeable. In fact, both of his initial interactions with his commanding officers were positive. Lt. Cmdr. T’Lea was efficient and had Sival in and out of her office with not a second to waste - Sival considered that even while on shore leave, an executive officer must have a lot on her plate. Dr. Indobri was similarly efficient; however, she was also an adept multi-tasker (this was a necessity, of course, for a doctor who practiced emergency medicine), all the while being welcoming, courteous and thoughtful. Sival made a note to develop these skills that the doctor had modelled to him.

As Doctor Indobri proceeded with Lt. Cmdr. Qinn’s examination, Sival commenced his survey of the medical facility. He was still in a state of awe, but, for the most part, his sense of wonder was in check. He toured the complex with a sense of fascination, curiosity and humility, still not yet believing that he would be working here. And in those moments in which he did believe it, he began imagining the ways in which he might use all this marvellous technology to heal and to make a difference.

In addition to the primary area where Dr. Indobri was conducting her examination, Sival looked around the surgical suite, intensive care unit and critical care unit. All were stocked with state-of-the-art technology that Sival could only dreamed to have had access to when he was a resident at Condar hospital on Betazed or, especially, when he worked in the field on planets like Vashti during the Romulan homeworld evacuation. Now, he was in the field again, but this time with the technology - and, from what he could tell, the highly competent staff - of a galaxy-class hospital to take with him.

After seeing all of the patient areas, Sival peeked into the laboratory and morgue as well, impressed by the equipment and inventory. He saw that almost every medicine, chemical and tool was available to conduct any test in-house.

Sival walked to the adjoining Counselling Suite. He wanted to go inside. Psychiatry, counselling and exploring the mind was his second passion in life, but he ultimately decided not to go inside - Dr. Indobri had not given him explicit permission to do so. However, she did say, “to look around the medical complex,” which must include Juneau’s Secondary Sickbay. Logically.

Sival returned to the main patient area, and he saw the doctor still examining and conversing with Lt. Cmdr. Qinn at one of the bio beds. Deciding not to interrupt them again, Sival approached the nurse, who had taken over inventorying some hyposprays.

Sival: I shall go now to Secondary Sickbay, but I will return shortly. Should Dr. Indobri enquire.

Nurse: Understood, Doctor.

Sival paused, noticing something unusual about the hyposprays.

Sival: Nurse, are those hyposprays aerosuspension based?

Nurse: Yes, of course, Doctor.

Sival: Curious. What accounts for the tactile interface on the top of it?

Sival had drawn attention to an additional input on the hypospray. As far as he knew, they should only have on interface, and it should be on the handle.

Nurse: Oh, that is to regulate the osmotic pressure while an injection is being administered.

Sival: An interesting concept. However, not practical. A hypospray injection occurs too quickly to allow for real-time adjustments.

Nurse: For you and me, perhaps. But not for our EMH. He is the one who invented the modification.

Sival: Fascinating. Thank you, Nurse.

Nurse: You’re welcome, Doctor.

Sival would have never considered the ship’s EMH could, or would, invent a technology so it would be adapted to his abilities.

(( Turbolift, Decks 7-24, USS Juneau ))

Sival left Main Sickbay and boarded a turbolift. When he entered, an engineering crew member was already inside, toolkit in hand. His face was dirty, hair unkempt and uniform stained. Sival restrained from staring and looking straight ahead.

Sival: =^= Deck 20, Secondary Sickbay =^=

(( Auxiliary Cargo Bay 2, Deck 24, USS Juneau ))

After a few moments of silence, and then after a few moments of uncomfortable silence, the lift came to a stop and the doors opened. However, instead of revealing a corridor or an entrance to sickbay, he was treated to a view of a cargo bay, bustling with activity. He was momentarily confused. As he had already memorized the ship’s schematics, he knew this area to be on deck 24. Then Sival remembered that turbolifts will take the most efficient route based on traffic in the shafts, so they do no always arrive at decks in chronological order. Yes, Sival was not yet accustomed to living on a starship.

The other man exited, and when Sival looked ahead past him, he saw a team of people buying themselves with what appeared to be building some kind of shuttlecraft. Sival found this to be most odd - why build something on a ship that already seems to have the best of everything?

Before the turbolift doors closed, he thought he saw a Bajoran in a red uniform. This might have been Captain Aria. Sival would need to find an opportunity to introduce himself to her.

(( Corridor near Secondary Medical, Deck 20, USS Juneau ))

A few seconds later, the doors opened again, this time to the expected scene. Sival alighted and walked down the corridor, past the ship’s torpedo armaments, of all things.

oO I am not sure about working next door to torpedo launchers. Oo

Finding Sickbay, Sival went inside.

(( Secondary Medical, Deck 20, USS Juneau ))

The Secondary Sickbay was smaller than the main one, which was not unexpected. But it still had three bio beds, a biohazard isolation unit, a doctor’s office and some nursing stations, one of which was staffed. Sival nodded to the nurse on duty, then took a moment to appreciate the aesthetic beauty of the facility.

oO Sival, you have made it. You can do some good here. Oo

(( Main Medical, Deck 7, USS Juneau ))

He then returned to the Main Sickbay. When he arrived, he noted that Lt. Cmdr. Qinn had already left. Dr. Indobri addressed him.
