(OOC: Just getting Kiran and Kalia out of the way)
((Main Sickbay, Deck 7, USS Juenau))
When they appeared in Sickbay Kiran was still carrying Dekas in his arms.
Pelley: You can put him on biobed four ::pointing:: over there.
Kiran carefully laid Dekas down on the bed then took a half step back. He hated these parts of missions. There was nothing left for him to do, no control he could exert, or training he could fall back on. It was in the hands of the doctors and nurses, all he could do was wait.
The chaos was giving Kalia a headache. Anxiety leaked out of pores like sweat, people were trying to get out of everyone’s way, and, in general, the stress in the room was rising.. She backed herself up against a wall and started pulling off her dive suit. She couldn’t add much, but she wanted to stay until she knew Dekas was at least stable.
Pelley: Thank you. Now if I may ask you guys to make some room for the medical staff to do their job? ::as they did:: Again thank you.
Pelley: Are you all right?
Kingsley just waved off the suggestion.
He’d have a conversation with her later if she resisted. They’d all been far too close to the Borg for his liking, and he was prepared to order anyone who argued to let the Doctors do any test they wanted to.
Kingsley: I'm fine.
Kiran thought he saw Pelley about to argue, but she refocused on Dekas and dismissed him and Kingsley.
Pelley: So you say. Still, I want you to come in for a full medical examination after you’ve enjoyed a good, hot sonic shower - just to make sure.
As Kingsley was about to exit Sickbay, a young bearded Trill walked in. She recognized his face from Juneau’s updated medical staff list.
Dekas: ::exhaling:: … love a good Trill.
Kiran finally thought to pull off his helmet revealing his own spots.
Han: We’re more than just a pretty face, Mr. Dekas, although I will admit we do brighten up a room.
Vihn: I'm pretty partial to them, myself, so we have that in common. Is it the spots?
It was good to see another Trill on the ship. He was looking forward to comparing notes with the Doctor. Kiran wasn’t sure if he was joined, but just being able to talk about home would be good, especially this far away.
Any: Response
Dekas: …S’the appreciation for new experiences, a-and, ah.
The Ensign seemed to have some difficulty breathing.
Dekas: unity. Spots are a bonus.
Kiran looked up as the Trill doctor tried to stop Kingsley from leaving Sickbay.
Vihn: Unless the Commander has already discharged you, I'd prefer you didn't leave before I can give you a once-over. Even if you feel alright. Just to be safe. ::A brief pause.:: Oh. I'm Ensign Vihn, by the way -- or Doctor Vihn. Whichever you prefer.
Kingsley seemed to ignore him completely. The situation wasn’t great, but he’d deal with it later if it continued to be an issue.
Dekas: Yes, we spoke I think.
Kiran made his way over to the XO. They had little to do and both concerned for Dekas for roughly the same reason.
The doctor walked over to the biobed occupied by Dekas.
Vihn: The treatment appears to be working, but it's an active process. It's fighting the nanoprobes in much the same way white blood cells would fend off a virus. How quickly were you able to get it administered?
She looked at Commander Qinn and then back at the doctor.
Pelley: The situation was quite hectic. But if I have to make a calculated guess… Less than an hour after he was injected with the Borg nanoprobes.
Vihn: The issue is keeping Mister Dekas alive for the medication to do that -- but I think he's got us pretty much covered on that front.
Suddenly she found the doctor’s dark brown eyes locking with hers and out of nothing she felt her cheeks warming up.
Vihn: I read the use of bicaridine in the ensign's lifesigns. Was that correct?
Pelley: ::stammering:: Uh. Yes. ::getting a grip on herself:: Yes. ::firmly:: Yes, doctor. To keep his pain levels under control. And I just administered him a dose of Pulmozine to stimulate his lungs.
Vihn: ::Nodding.:: This is still ongoing. We need to keep an active eye on Dekas until the last of the nanoprobes is gone. Ensign Dekas, I don't recall you mentioning where you're from?
Dekas: Aurelia. ::a short pause followed by a bark of laughter.:: Th-The Bird Place.
Vihn: ::chuckling:: The "Bird Place," huh? Why do I get the feeling that doesn't really do it justice?
Pelley placed a padd into Motor's hand. With a half-smile, Motor again nodded to the nurse.
Pelley: These are his current scans. You can cross check the data with the scans we took of the Ensign when he first came aboard the ship.
Vihn: Thank you, Nurse Pelley.
Vihn: New experiences and unity, huh? That's why I'm here, y'know. That, and keeping enterprising young ensigns from turning into drones in Sickbay on my first day on the job. You've gotta work with me there, Dekas. ::teasingly.:: You're gonna make me look bad.
Dekas: Response
Pelley: Response
Kiran and Kalia continued to watch from the corner. A pile of dive suit parts were piled at her feet, but needed to go somewhere else. She was reaching the extent of what was acceptable for her to stand around with nothing to do.
Vihn: ::looking up from Pelley. Motor's tone balanced urgency with gentle calm.:: May I see one of the other doses of Doctor Indobri's work? In the meantime, Ensign Dekas, tell me something about Aurelia. Have you got a favorite place to visit there?
Dekas/Pelly: Response
Kalia reached up and grabbed the Major by the shoulder and pushed him, gently, towards the exit. She gathers up her dive suit and looked towards the Doctor.
Qinn: Doctor Vihn, I need to see to the ship, and the Major needs to get out of his armor. The both of us will happily submit to any medical checks you feel are necessary. Please contact us once the Ensign is stable and you are available.
Kiran nodded hastily before moving towards the door.
Han: I’ll be back to check on you as soon as I’m cleaned up Mr. Dekas. I expect you to follow any instructions Vihn or Pelley give you. I’ll also make sure Kingsley comes back as well, Doctor, don’t worry.
Vihn/Pelley(?): Response
Kalia and Kiran headed out the door, she pushed her dive suit into Kiran’s arms before he got out of arm’s reach, and didn’t wait for him to argue before heading for the turbolift at the other end of the deck.
