((Guest Quarters - USS Eagle))
It had been a somewhat uneventful trip from Earth. Lumm had spent most of her time filling up and signing what seemed like a hundred and one forms and catching up on her new posting. She had received her assignment a few days before the graduation parade at Starfleet Academy and it had taken her completely by surprise.

Like most cadets, she had been eager for a spot on one of the exploration cruisers, but when she looked at the large screen with the thousands of cadet names and their new assignments she was initially disappointed when she saw hers.

Denali Station.

Not only it was, well, a station, it was one neither her nor the cadets in her small clique had ever heard about. It seemed like she had been neglected to some backwater station where she'd spend the rest of her career ferrying random bureaucrats back and forth on shuttle errands.

Surely she wasn't exactly the best pilot to ever grace the Starfleet Academy flight range, and she didn't break any records, but her grades were good enough to place her in the top quarter of her class, surely her assignment should reflect that.

It was not until the paperwork started to come in and she started to read about Denali that she understood the significance of her assignment.

The Station was actually a recently discovered engineering marvel in a vibrant sector recently taken over by the Federation following the withdrawal of the Cardassians. The Ring itself, where the Station was located, had been barely explored and the Aavaro Wilds also had its own share of interesting features to be surveyed.

She was going to the Frontier. The real Frontier. Where you never knew exactly what was waiting for you after the next proverbial corner. For some, that prospect might have been terrifying, but for Lumm, this was just what she had been dreaming of, even before joining the Academy.

Captain: Attention all personnel, we are now approaching Denali Station. Passengers please make your way to transporter room three for disembarking.

The captain's voice brought her back to reality with a slight startle.

oO We're here. Oo

((Denali Station - Central Plaza))
The transporter crewman had told Lumm and the other passengers that went down with her that they would be beamed down to the Central Plaza, as many if not most of the Station's facilities were still offline. Her luggage would be beamed directly to her quarters later on - not that she knew where they were supposed to be yet.

She took another look at the PADD in her hand, to review her immediate orders.

oO Report to the First Officer for quarters and duty assignments. Now I just need to find out where they are. Oo

She looked around the Plaza to find an information terminal. Luckily for her the directory listings were working.

oO XO's Office. Anchorage. Level fifteen. Oo

Looking at the direction the little map pointed, she looked up to see the massive glass paneled building that the map called Anchorage. For a second she thought how little it resembled an anchorage, but then she remembered reading about how the buildings were named after cities in a specific region of Earth and that made a little more sense.

Not wanting to waste any time, she made her way towards the building.

((Anchorage - Level 15 - XO's Office))
Standing in front of the - helpfully labeled - door, Lumm straightened her back just a little bit, nearly unconsciously. She knew that in time she would grow more familiar with her superiors and meeting them wouldn't bring as much anxiousness as it did now, but that didn't make it any easier. She took a deep breath and pressed the door chime.

Qinn: Response

The door parted open and Lumm took a couple of steps inside, not wanting to intrude.

Lumm: Hello Sir, Ensign Lumm, reporting for duty.
