(( Auxiliary Cargo Bay 2, Deck 24, USS Juneau ))

Sival’s assumed role was to monitor the crew’s bio signs for any abnormalities. So far, everyone’s lifesigns were within normal limits, and life support within both crafts was functioning normally. Indeed, as Captain Oddas and her crew supported the maneuvers of the newly-minted Allahayer, the readings recorded by the computer bore testament to the crew’s professionalism and coolness under pressure.

Qinn: =/\= Distance will be 7.5 AUs on my mark...3...2...1… Mark =/\=

Any: =/\= Response =/\=

Qinn: =/\= We have company, I believe.  I’m detecting what seems to be a small probe, running parallel to the Allahayer.  It’s trying, and failing, to match the Allahayer’s acceleration.=/\=

Falt: =/\= I have it but I can’t make out much, the Allahayer’s sensors are optimized for navigation. I’m not picking up any life signs so a drone of some sort?  =/\=

Oddas: =/\= What can we find out about it? =/\=

Any: =/\= Response =/\=

To have such objective evidence of his new crew’s competence was reassuring. That he could relate these readings and this racing experience to his own professional interests was a bonus.

Qinn: =/\= The top users of this kind of drone happen to be small, independent, mining concerns, and News Agencies.  If it can catch you, you might be in the news, Captain.=/\=

Stelek: =/\= It is possible they are heading toward the asteroid, though Lightside Station is supposed to have the lane clear for us. =/\=

Any: =/\= Response =/\=

Qinn: =/\= The flight path of the probe is well clear of yours, Captain, they’re just looking, so far.  Would you like me to wave them off?=/\=

Falt: =/\= I say we give them a big show sir. Let’s show them what the Allahayer can really do =/\=

Oddas: =/\= Let them watch, notify us if they come any closer relatively.  Give me a final status for the turn.  =/\=

Stelek:=/\= Understood. =/\=

Quinn/Deveaux: =/\= Responses =/\=

Falt: =/\= The probe is maintaining it's trajectory but is falling behind us slightly, we'll comfortably reach the asteroid and make the turn before it catches us =/\=

Oddas: =/\= Understood=/\=

All: =/\= Response =/\=

There were moments, of course, when the crew’s adrenaline levels spiked, such as when it found out it was being tailed by a probe, but the crew always responded with their ‘wise mind’ dominant over their emotional one.

Oddas: =/\= Executing now. =/\=

Sival’s sensors were also patched into the Allahyer’s life support system. It monitored temperature, oxygen level, radiation, atmospheric pressure, g-forces - all the environmental factors either conducive or not conducive to life. Currently they registered nominal changes in g-forces due to the ship’s assumed acceleration. The system would alert him if the forces went above tolerable limits.

Stelek: =/\= Aria! Captain! A ship just took off from the surface of the asteroid, evasive maneuvers! =/\=

Falt: =/\= Confirmed, bearing 49 mark 76. Distance 8 kilometers and closing. Current course has it within 50 meters of the Allahayer in 12 seconds. =/\=

Such as at this moment. An indicator light went off alerting him to unusually intense gravitational acceleration forces. Not high enough to cause loss of consciousness, but definitely uncomfortable, even if one were wearing a pressure suit.

Oddas: =/\= Response =/\=

Falt: =/\= They're compensating, distance 5 kilometers =/\=

Another warning light went off, this one accompanied by one of the standard selection of Starfleet warning tones. Three short tones in rapid succession. This warning indicated a microscopic drop in atmospheric pressure and oxygen saturation.

oO Perhaps the sudden acceleration caused a microfracture? Oo

Sival could only guess. His sensors did not relay such information.

The loss of atmosphere was minor, but it would become significant over time if ignored. Switching to the internal EV suits’ life support systems would be the most prudent course of action.

Sival:  =/\=  Captain, my sensors indicate a drop in cabin pressure. Recommend switching to EV life support at your earliest convenience. =/\=

Oddas/Any: =/\= Response =/\=

Falt: =/\= Distance 2 kilometers =/\=

Any: =/\= Response =/\=

The bio signs of the crew remained strong, and now Sival had new life signs to monitor from the approaching craft - strong, Ferengi life signs.
