Dekas was very slowly eating the food he had in front of him. Because he was far more interested in whatever he was looking at on his PADD, with a tilt of his head and a quiet scoff of thought.

So interested in whatever it was, in fact, that he startled when someone took a seat next to him.

Any: Response

Dekas: Apologies. I didn’t notice you immediately. It appears I was lost in thought.

Any: Response

He debated whether he should say, then nodded.

Dekas: Well… earlier this morning I walked into a room to say hello to someone I recognized. Someone else that I hadn’t met yet was startled at the sight of me. And I apologized for the quiet steps. To which they responded “It’s not that. I just thought you were a velociraptor for a second.” And then the rest of the morning that’s been sitting with me. Because until now I didn’t know what a velociraptor was.

Dekas: Do… Do you think I look like a velociraptor? 

He held up an image of a velociraptor, in this case, one of the versions with feathers. He wasn’t offended by any means, just very confused. And maybe slightly worried that he seemed somehow scary to people around him sometimes if a comparison was a velociraptor.
