(( Cochtois Lagoon - Deluvia IV ))

After a short break in the warm sand, the trio walked along the coast line. The air was filled with the sound of the gentle waves, birds hidden in the trees sang their pleasant evening song. And the conversation continued, from pointers they’d give to their younger self to the time they had spent at the Starfleet Academy.

Neathler: I can show you the best bars and clubs around the Academy though. Although I’m sure things have changed a lot these days.

Marshall: Some will be gone. Some will be worse. One or two will be exactly the same, right down to the smell. I believe the FooBar is still there. Ceilings fixed, apparently.

Fenn: Sounds like fun, we should do that sometime.

Marshall: Sadly Starfleet bars don't collapse, they just harden like the vomited regret stomped into the flooring. All those stress fractures. ::She clicked her tongue on her cheek.:: Pressure had to go somewhere.

Fenn: Ewww I’m pretty sure there was another metaphor you could have used.

Samira smiled, already used to the wording Jo was known for.

Neathler: That’s Jo for you.

Marshall: If we make it back to Earth some time soon, we'll go. Relive some of those old memories.

Relive some old memories, where other people would learn Samira had struggled in her first year of the Academy, where she had ended up with some wrong people and gained a certain reputation at a few of the bars. It had been some years ago now, she had changed, the bar owners might have changed too.

Fenn: Considering we’re currently on shore leave it may be some time.

Neathler: Or maybe we’ll visit Bolaris IX first.

With over six hundred people on board it would be difficult to visit the home planet of each one of them, granted it would be less than six hundred locations, it was a noble but almost unachievable thought. The colours in the sky ranged from purple to gold as the sun set and Samira took a deep breath.

Marshall: I think I'll message Erin, see if she'll bring Rubin down and we can go for dinner somewhere. It's too lovely of an evening to pass up.

Fenn: Sounds like a wonderful idea!

Neathler: And we can ask her if she wants to join us tomorrow.

They continued their walk along the beach. Samira noticed an odd glow underneath the ocean water, probably caused by some bigger fish chasing their food.

Fenn: Commanders, do either of you know somewhere good to eat around here?

Marshall: Response

Fenn: Sounds good to me, let’s go.

With the snacks Samira had earlier, she wasn’t really hungry but she tagged along, maybe there’d be something light on the menu she could order. A few minutes later, when they rounded a corner of the beach there was a lonely establishment. Tables and chairs on the porch gave the customers a nice view of the ocean. While the rest of the restaurant, was surrounded by different kinds of indigenous trees.

Fenn: ::pointing to the bar:: This is it right?

Marshall: Response

Neathler: There’s a free table to the right.

The chairs were placed such a way that every person sitting had the same spectacular view over the ocean. Samira took a seat. This time there was no holographic menu. Instead there stood a chalk board near the entrance, with the offers of the day and a bit of an explanation. Seeing the restaurant worked with only fresh and local ingredients, the menu changed every day and was written on the board.

Neathler: So what do you fancy?

Marshall / Fenn: Response

Neathler: I’ll take the salad, it seemed based on seaweed, I’m kind of curious what it will taste like.

Marshall / Fenn: Response

A young Selkie came and took the order from the people sitting next to them and then moved over to their table. Yet, before he reached them he greeted a couple of Selkie and walked them inside the restaurant.

Neathler: It makes me wonder if the Selkie still see the beauty of this place or if they take it for granted.

Marshall / Fenn: Response
