((Moss Fields, Gateside Dimension))
The ground trembled, almost indistinguishable from that of the stampede. It grew as the ground beneath the three females shifted and seemed to melt away before the rise of a massive boulder. Their feet touched rock as the last of the moss disappeared in a puff, and they rode the megalith upward, until they stood atop the largest of a pile of boulders, but not the one Vylaa had imagined.
Kairis: Oh, that's— ::She swallowed, relief scratching out through a dry throat.:: That's one way to do it.
Sevo: Was not what I expected, but it works. ::She said, sitting up, propping herself up with her hands.::
zh’Tisav: Can’t exactly control where they pop up… ::Pause.:: If you like I can put them back and try for a different placement?
Kairis: I don't think it gets much better than this.
Sevo: No, this is fine. It seems to be working.
Like a crashing wave, the herd broke around the boulder pile. Some tried to climb it, but gave up and rejoined the stampeding beasts as they went around to either side. The hunters had caught up in the intervening time, and the herd’s stragglers were already falling to their claws. Vylaa shifted her attention to her companions, gauging their reaction to the slaughter occurring on the ground below.
zh'Tisav: Don't throw up. You'll be wearing it until we get home.
Kairis: No, I— ::She frowned.:: There's no blood or organs. It looks more like... sap? And fungi?
Whatever it was, it wasn’t blood. Thick and viscous, it ran like pine sap on an Andorian summer’s day. That is to say: not very fast.
Sevo: Looks like sap to me; which I guess makes sense if they’re plants, right?
zh'Tisav: It would, but when’s the last time you saw a plant stampede?
Ever the scientist, the Trill had her tricorder out and chirping, scanning every it of the scene below them.
Kairis: If this place wasn't so hostile, the exobotanists would have field day.
Sevo: Best they’ll have to settle for will be scans. ::She tapped her tricorder.::
Vylaa’s cobalt eyes shifted to the Tyrellian.
zh'Tisav: Who’re you kidding, they’d still enjoy it.
Sevo: Any…uh…any way we can get down from here?
It was quiet down below again. The surviving herd had escaped and dissapeared while their attackers had been feasting. A few of the latter had tried to get at the trio, but the rocks had proved too steep and they moved off back to the trees, satisfied with the meal they had had.
zh’Tisav: So now you don’t want the rocks...
Kairis: Response
Sevo: Hey, it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Kairis: Response
Sevo: Well, we’re tethered together. Maybe we can lower each other down one at a time. Unless you guys want to give a go at thinking these rocks away.
zh’Tisav: That would work for the first two, whomever is left last would have to climb down unassisted. And I think we got lucky the first time, try thinking them away and we might spawn a volcano instead...
Sevo / Kairis: Response
zh’Tisav: Let me go last. Andorian physiology is better able to survive a fall if I slip.
Sevo / Kairis: Response
zh’Tisa: Well, I don’t plan of falling, it’s just in case.
The tall Andorian scouted around the lip of their boulder. More rocks were piled up on one side, forming a platform of sorts midway down, looking very Disney-esque.
zh’Tisav: Here, there’s more rocks on this side. We can do it in two stages, to that boulder midway, and then to the ground. Hopefully there’ll still be ground when we get there.
Sevo / Kairis: Response
