(( Phoenix Tower, Colonia Prima District, Adamas ))

Having survived the experience of Aldebaran whiskey, Maezel’s thoughts turned to whether the spirit of the Gorkon’s prohibition could be resurrected to create a beverage unique to the ship. It seemed like a good idea on the face of it but it clearly faced some hurdles.

Fenn: Perhaps it’s just wishful thinking. It’s a nice idea though.

Sevo: His wasn’t the only, erm…non-regulatory distillery on the ship. Lots of places had hidden ones, like the science labs. We could get away with them sometimes if we justified the equipment as “necessary scientific equipment.” :: She quoted the last phrase.::

zh’Tisav: And I’m sure you had nothing do do with it, of course.

Sevo: Be that as it may, please don’t try to skim past regulations. As long as you’re responsible with your drinking, you should be fine. I really don’t want to see the ship dry again.

Maezel nodded in agreement. Wise words. Probably best to let the bar tenders on the Gorkon handle it anyway, they were the professionals when it came to drinks. The thought was interrupted by a noticeable increase in the ambient volume. Maezel glanced around to find more and more people pouring in.

Sevo: Lots of people showing up!

zh’Tisav: They probably waited to make sure the Admiral wasn’t going to roll up...

Fenn: Never say never.

The guests seemed to be of the same mind as they headed for the food and the bar. Glancing around the room, Maezel was pleased to see a lot of smiling faces, laughing and general socialising. Creating an environment where the crew could come together and forget their latest ordeal for an evening was the objective and seeing it coming to fruition was highly satisfying.

zh’Tisav: Where did you find a Ferengi DJ?  I’d have thought with the large ears they’d shy away from loud dance music.

Fenn: ::glancing towards the DJ:: He was in the lobby when I viewed the place, said he could do it so I thought why not? I was going to be hard pressed to find entertainment at such short notice anyway.

Sevo: Response

Sallia: He’s good, I can tell he does this regularly; not something he threw together to make a quick bar.

Fenn: I’m pleasantly surprised.

And it was true. The gentle jazz music filled the room but it wasn’t so loud that Maezel had to raise her voice significantly. At least for now. The tempo was due to pick up later and Maezel hoped it might be enough to coax the others onto the dance floor.

Sevo: Response

zh’Tisav: But those headphones are, well, let’s just say not helping his look…

Fenn: It’s certainly… ::pausing a second to find the right word:: …unique.

Sevo: Response

Taking in the image of the DJ once more, the headphones really were a misfit. They were clearly way too big for the Ferengi which was quite the feat considering the size of a Ferengi’s lobes. It was the layers of hold chains hanging from his neck which Maezel found most interesting. She wasn’t exactly sure what the purpose was.

Fenn: I wonder if the necklaces are real gold?

Sallia / Sevo / zh’Tisav: Response

Fenn: Well just goes to show, we shouldn’t judge based on looks.

Sallia / Sevo / zh’Tisav: Response
