Ensign Spelvan - To More Future Diversions

Spelvan and V'Lar had just finished their game of kal-toh. Spelvan had spent the past several minutes describing the rules of the human game of Battleship, another game that he knew and enjoyed. 

Spelvan: It has been good to play this again.

V'Lar: Indeed. 

V'Lar began putting away the game, methodical as usual. Spelvan stayed quiet and watched her. 

V'Lar: If we are to proceed with your 'Battleship' 'diversion' in the future, I will require the official rule set in advance. Do you possess a copy of the game, or will it be necessary to replicate the required components?

Spelvan: I will send it to you; I can replicate a copy for us to play. 

Once V'Lar finished putting away the game, she folded her hands and looked at Spelvan.

V'Lar: Discussing Human games in a Klingon themed location is a curious juxtaposition. Tell me, Ensign, given the number of viable locations available, what was your thought process in proposing this location?

Spelvan paused as he thought about his, well, thoughts. 

Spelvan: I wished to further our communication in a... less formal environment. Quarters would be inappropriate, and I knew that Sto'Vo'Kor had a kal'toh set from previous visits. 

No one had visited Spelvan's quarters since he had been assigned to the Gorkon, and as he was not overly social, he was not sure when that would be. In any case, Spelvan would be embarrassed if V'Lar visited his. He had placed his meditation area in front of his giant snail tank and found it helped him to focus. He was certain that V'Lar would not want anyone to visit her quarters either. 

V'Lar: Response

Spelvan: I hope I did not offend you by suggesting this locale. 

V'Lar: Response

Their game and drinks finished, Spelvan stood. He saw V'Lar through a different light now, and he suspected she did him as well. Though there were still things about her (such as her research) that gave him pause, on the whole he was glad for the chance to know her a little better. 

Spelvan: I do not suppose you know of any other games we could play together in the future?

V'Lar: Response
