The bartender had asked Spelvan what the best tactic was if one was being attacked from behind. The Vulcan offered to demonstrate.

Spelvan: ::He turned so that his back was facing the Bolian and human.:: Mr. Crauw, if you would like, you can attempt to grip me and I will show you what I mean. Or, if you fear hurting me, Ensign Fenn can try.

Fenn: Are you comfortable with that Crauw? I don’t mind gripping Spelvan if you prefer to watch first.

Spelvan: I have no qualms either way.

Crauw: Response

The Bolian took the initiative, sensing that Crauw was perhaps hesitant. She wrapped her arms around the Vulcan's chest, pinning his arms and gripping her hands, rendering him immobile

Crauw: Response

Spelvan said nothing but nodded, ready to begin his escape. Trapping his arms to his side was a good instinct.

In a very quick sequence, he dropped his weight to the ground and grabbed Fenn's hands, slipping one of his feet behind hers to stop her from moving. He tucked his chin to one side and pushed his other elbow up to roll underneath her, flipping around to face her in a defensive stance.

Spelvan: We can now demonstrate the moves in slow motion.

Crauw/Fenn: Response

Spelvan instructed Fenn to grip him more loosely as he went over each move he had made step by step.

Spelvan: Does all of that make sense? It can be a lot to remember, especially under pressure.

Crauw/Fenn: Response

He looked at his two pupils, glad that both of them had come. They were both very curious and asked a lot of questions, which made it much easier to engage and hopefully teach them something useful.

Spelvan: Was there anything else you wanted to know about? If there were interest, I may consider doing a more regular class.

Crauw/Fenn: Response
