(( Shuttle Bay - USS Gorkon ))
The ship was in orbit of Deluvia IV, the M-class planet being a welcome change after the Klingon colony they visited earlier. One of the first things Samira had done was check out the weather forecast and noted all the regions that had controlled rain over them. She was going to avoid them all. This time the tropical beaches called their name. Since she had joined the Gorkon, it would be the third time she visited the planet, with its pristine beaches, underwater cities, several huge national parks, mountain formations and their tall peaks.
A visit to the Iyira, the capital underwater city, was on her list too this time, but first she’d give Ko some fresh air. Dressed in a yellow tank top, her fingerless gloves hidden in the back pocket of her black trousers, she was ready for a hike in one of the national parks, where Ko could climb trees or just snuggle on a branch and catch some more sleep. But first she had one more thing on the agenda, welcoming Ensign Maezel Fenn onboard, and for that she had recruited the help from their Chief of Ops Jo Marshall.
Both women walked into the shuttle bay, and Samira ruffled her short black hair, looking sideways at the blonde woman next to her.
Neathler: How’s Rubin doing these days? Are you and Erin planning to take him to the surface?
Marshall: Response
Their conversation was cut short as a shuttle flew through the shielded shuttle bay entrance, and Samira kept quiet until the pilot landed and shut down the engines. Hardly a moment later, the shuttle doors opened, and several people stepped out. She was looking for one person in particular. Her eyes brightened as she caught sight of the ensign and she smiled towards the twenty-five year old female Bolian coming in their direction and nodded in greeting.
Neathler: Ensign Maezel Fenn, welcome aboard the USS Gorkon. I’m Lieutenant Commander Samira Neathler, Chief Security and Tactical.
Marshall / Fenn: Response
Neathler: I hope you had a pleasant trip?
Marshall / Fenn: Response
Neathler: We’re on shore leave currently, but I think you’ll love Deluvia with its oceans and the underwater world. Something tells me it’s one of your interests?
She had skimmed through the ensign’s file earlier, which had made it easier to make a point of connection. For Samira, the ocean was just a massive body of water to swim or dive in, and the outstretched beaches would be a welcome change for her morning runs. Or a quiet place to have a drink with friends around a campfire in the evening, like a few years back. How times and things had changed since then.
