(( Cochtois Lagoon, Deluvia IV ))
Though a drug base bust and the arrest of a wanted criminal hadn’t been what Maezel had expected to be doing on her first shore leave, she had survived. This had largely been thanks to Commanders Sevo and V’Lar and their ability to think outside the box when
it came to dire situations. With the incident concluded and handed over to local law enforcement the trio had been beamed back to the surface of Deluvia IV, to the pier where the dive had begun.
Fenn: Shall we get rid of this diving gear? I’m sure the Gorkon can beam us back after unless either of you fancies taking a flying lesson and stopping off at an illegal aerial base.
Some may say it was too soon for jokes but Maezel had never risked her life like this before and it seemed this was how she was programmed to deal with such experiences. Besides, biologically, some feel-good neurotransmitters would do them all some good.
Sevo: Well, thanks for the swim. It did NOT go how I expected. I thought we’d just see some fish, have a chat, then end with some dinner somewhere. Did not expect to break a drug operation and capture a wanted man.
V’Lar: The parameters of the excursion did indeed shift radically. However, we did still get some exercise and aided in the dismantling of an illicit operation. It was an acceptable use of time.
V’Lar: I advise you to seek medical attention for your hand once aboard the Gorkon, Commander.
With Commander Sevo having departed with a nod that left just V’Lar and Maezel. She had already decided to head back to the ship after this anyway. She still had to put some finishing touches on her new quarters and explore the ship a little more. She met V’Lar’s gaze
as the Vulcan turned to her.
V’Lar: Will you be returning directly to the Gorkon? If you do so, I advise you to also report to Sickbay for a standard evaluation.
Fenn: Yes, that’s enough excitement for one day. How about you, Commander?
V’Lar: I shall be returning to my quarters.
Fenn: I’ll see you around. Thank you for your help on the facility.
Maezel watched V'Lar step onto the pad and seconds later she too had gone. Maezel double checked the destination was still
USS Gorkon and then she too stepped onto the transporter pad. With a blue flash and what felt like no longer than a blink she found herself back on board the
Gorkon ready for a much safer level of relaxation before the shore leave ended.
