(( Deep Trenches, Deluvia IV ))
The turbolift stopped on the fourth and top-most floor. The doors opened to reveal a large room built in the same nondescript architecture. Various consoles were arranged in the room, with a main display at the far wall. And not a soul in sight.
Sevo: No one home, apparently.
V’Lar: This is advantageous. We can access the main computer without resistance.
Fenn: True enough.
V’Lar: Ensign, given the linguistic barrier, it would be logical for you to interface with the primary terminal.
That was a good idea. There shouldn’t be any reason why there wasn’t a language dictionary in the computer.
Fenn: Sure, give me two seconds I’ll see what I can find out.
V’Lar: I would suggest we focus on ascertaining the facility's designation and operational status.
Fenn: Agreed.
Sevo: Current operational status: spooky.
Fenn headed towards a large terminal in the center of the room; easily surmised to be the master terminal.
V’Lar: Commander Sevo, observe the state of the room. No sign of damage or distress, yet unoccupied. Do you have any theories?
Sevo: I have two thoughts. One: the place is automated; but then they wouldn’t need this control center.
V’Lar: Interesting, please continue.
Sevo: Two: Whoever staffs this place did not leave in a hurry. It’s as if a shift was over and they simply shut down their terminals for the day.
Fenn: Commanders, sorry to interrupt but Commander V’Lar was correct; the computer system is in Bolian by default.
Sevo: Can you change it?
V’Lar: Response
Fenn spent a few seconds tapping at the computer in silence, then Ayiana saw all the script on the computers switch to the familiar Federation Standard.
Fenn: I’ve taken the liberty to switch the language on terminals to Federation standard so you should both be able to understand what’s going on now.
Sevo: Much appreciated.
V’Lar: Response
Fenn: ::waving for the others to look at her screen:: So looking at the station’s various registries it looks like the main computer is of Bolian origin which explains the language, the hull is local to Deluvia and the other systems come from various places around the Federation. Whoever built this place and got all these components working together is an absolute genius.
Sevo: So this place is cobbled together from scrounged parts across the galaxy?
V’Lar: Response
Sevo: I don’t see how a single person could do that. They must have a support network of some kind.
V’Lar / Fenn: Response
Sevo: Aside from individuals, Pakled are proficient in cobbling together different technologies, but this place doesn’t feel right for it to be them.
V’Lar / Fenn: Response
Sevo: Is there a lab or some secret place in the lower levels where an evil genius might lurk?
V’Lar / Fenn: Response
