Ensign Maezel Fenn – The Echo

With both Maezel and Crauw having successfully pulled off the techniques Ensign Spelvan had shown them, the pair had taken the opportunity to ask more questions. The line of questioning had now turned to how one should handle an armed attacker. In Maezel’s mind the answer was a simple “you don’t” but she was interested to see if Spelvan had anything that they could use. 
 
 
Fenn: I would say if the attacker is armed and you’re not then do whatever they say. ::turning to Spelvan:: That said if the option is to fight then there must be something you can, right? 
 
 
Spelvan: You are correct, Ensign Fenn. It is never wise to attempt to disarm an opponent. I do have a strategy to use in such a situation, however.  

  

Crauw: Response 

 

 

Fenn: Would you be willing to show us Spelvan? 

 

 

Spelvan: ::He nodded hesitantly.:: I must warn you, it is unrelated to martial arts. But yes, I can show you.  
 

 

Crauw: Response 

 
 
Maezel watch as Spelvan closed his eyes. She wondered if this was some sort of meditation practice he was about to demonstrate and how meditation was meant to work against phaser or blade. It was only when the Ensign began speaking again that she realised what he was doing. To her amazement he’d somehow managed to project his voice across the room and make it sound like it came from elsewhere.  
 

 

Spelvan: Over here! Over here! 

 
 
Fenn: ::looking behind her quickly:: Wha...? ::turning back to Spelvan::  How did you do that? 
 
 

Crauw: Response 

 

 

Spelvan: Projecting one's voice is a useful distraction skill should you be, as one might say, "against a wall." 

 

 

Fenn: I’m guessing this isn’t something we can master in one class, right? 
 
 

Crauw / Spelvan: Response 
 
 
Fenn: If it’s not a Suus Mahna technique, where did you learn it from Spelvan?
