((Concordia District, Adamas))
While eating at an “American diner,” the group were discussing what to do in the massive city. Fenn had found some tours that might work. As she listened, she noticed Doran and Shardon eating, and as usual, her mouth moved before her brain did.
Sevo: Gotta say, I don’t see a lot of Vulcans enjoying shared milkshakes with sprinkles.
One thing Ayiana is good at is social faux pas. As seen by the reactions of the table. Fenn nearly stopped chewing and saw Doran straighten his posture.
Shardon: I am only half Vulcan. I was raised on Earth by my human mother, who felt like exposing me to the standard Earthen traditions was the best way to raise me.
Doran: She did an amazing job.
Shardon: You did a good job raising your own kids too.
Shardon: Even if they did blow up my cart.
Sevo: Uh…sorry if I stepped on any toes. I…tend to do that. Now what is this about blowing up a cart?
Doran: That was an accident.
Shardon: According to them.
Doran: I believed them. I’ve seen enough of their purposeful explosions to know the difference.
Shardon: I don’t understand why you even allow them around anything with the potential to blow up.
Sevo: Waitwaitwaitwait. You let your kids blow things up?! On purpose?!
Doran: I did try to limit that…but they found ways around it. They’re smarter than I ever was…they get their intelligence from their mother…
Shardon: Andrew…
Doran: Sorry. I don’t mean to compare.
Shardon: I know that my love.
Whatever had fully transpired between the pair, Doran seemed to have come out the worst for it. He looked a bit despondent, staring at his hands avoiding eye contact.
Fenn: ::speaking cheerfully:: So did I hear right? You have children, tell us about them.
Oh, good. Fenn was good at defusing tense situations. Better than Ayiana.
Sevo: Yes!
Doran / Shardon: Response
Fenn: They sound delightful, you both must be so proud of them. What are they up to these days?
Doran / Shardon: Response
Ayiana listened as the pair explained. Sometimes, they made it sound great, other times, like disaster. Kids, right?
Sevo: Well, sounds like you have an interesting home life. None so for me yet.
Fenn / Doran / Shardon: Response
Sevo: Not this host. I’ve had children in past hosts. Each experience was different.
She declined to admit the fact, in a grand, multiversal sense, Ayiana HAD had a child. Back in the Borg aborted timeline, it turned out she and Cory had a daughter, being raised by her sister Aleesia in the hellhole known as Nassau. It was disheartening to see their child/not-child living there, but the fact they had one in that timeline also gave the pair hope. Cory proposed right then and there. But the fact that Coriana had existed, for however brief a time, was a closely kept secret that they hadn’t told anyone.
Fenn / Doran / Shardon: Response
Sevo: Someday, perhaps.
Fenn / Doran / Shardon: Response
