((Prifddinas Mountains, Southern Hemisphere, Deluvia IV))

An unexpected glacier hike with Vylaa zh’Tisav and Alorr had turned, briefly, into talk of ghosts and faith. Both officers were from races with strong religious and superstitious beliefs, both not quite sure what they believed in anymore.

The conversation didn’t linger on the subject for long, though. The quiet philosophical moment passed, and Meru started down the path once more, keeping the next orange flag in her sight. It wasn’t just the next trail marker she was looking out for though, nor just the next secure foothold. She’d brought a holocamera with her, and she didn’t want to miss an opportunity for a photo to send to her fa

Tahna: Did you ever find an opportunity to wear that leopard-print dress you got?

zh’Tisav: Hmm?  Oh, that.  No, not yet.  It’s too fancy for anything informal, which seems to be all there is for me lately.

Tahna: Perhaps you can find something next time you see your partners.

They looped around another rocky outcrop, gaining altitude bit by bit. On the other side of the outcrop the glaciers came suddenly into view, nestled between two tall peaks. Meru paused to snap a photo—they were closer than she expected, or at least it appeared that way.

zh’Tisav: Did your father enjoy the paints you got him?

Tahna: He did. I think he’s doing a series of works in the Musilla Province right now, though I haven’t seen any yet.

He didn’t like anyone to see his works while they were still in progress—Meru hoped they’d be finished soon. She always loved her father’s art. Some of it hung in her office and in her quarters.

zh’Tisav: Response

A bird screeched overhead, and Meru looked up to watch it circle. It was white flecked with grey, to blend in with the snowy, rocky environment. A bird of prey of some sort. It looked a bit like a falcon. What did it prey on up here? Perhaps whatever the grahty had caught and delivered to the two officers earlier. Maybe the bird had spotted another…or maybe he was watching the large Andorian wildcat in confusion.

Tahna: I wonder if he’s watching your cat. ::She laughed, placing air quotes around her words.:: ‘What is that? It doesn’t belong here!’

zh’Tisav: Response
