Try as she might Maezel had reached her limit in the game of limbo. She’d managed to clear two levels which she felt proud of; it was a respectable effort and better than she thought she was going to do. With the trio out of the beach game, the conversation turned to the rest of the Gorkon’s science team.

Fenn: And who is the Chief Science Officer? I noticed the crew manifest doesn’t list one.

Samira exchanged a look with Jo. Maezel noticed the look which served to add to a sense of mystery surrounding who the head of team is. Whoever they were, Maezel would be her charming self. It wasn’t often she met someone she couldn’t get along with.

Marshall: Response

Neathler: Valesha is doing a good job, and her and Soup’s daughter is just adorable. It’s difficult to believe she’s already three years old.

oO Soup? Did I hear that correctly? Oo

Fenn: I look forward to meeting them all.

Marshall: Response

Samira sat down in the sand, watching the rest of the limbo game unfold in front of them. With the bar lowered another ten centimeters, it was almost impossible for humanoids to waddle underneath the bar. She looked at Fenn.

Neathler: Do you have special beach games back on Bolarus? Something that's doable for multiple species?

Fenn: ::sitting down next to Neathler:: We have many beach games. Bolarus is an oceanic world so a lot of our entertainment and sports involve the water. ::thinking for a second:: I think my favourite translates as Tidal Scour. It's a bit like a treasure hunt in rivers with strong currents and fast flowing water. Whoever collects their kal'dars...these weighted ceramic balls...and returns them all to their team’s basket first is the winner.

This was a huge oversimplification of the game of course. Rasar-karn (Tidal Scour) was a exceptionally difficult game that required perfect synchronicity between the players. Maezel remembered the Rasar-karn court in her former school; the two huge, submerged nets set up and down the river 20 meters apart defining the play area. She took a moment to reminisce a younger version of herself being taught how to play the role of the seeker as she attempted to find the kal'dars. She remembered the difficulty of trying to find and catch them in the rapidly flowing water while her teammate, the anchor, tried to help her navigate the currents and direct her efforts from the other side of a reinforced tether.

Marshall: Response

Fenn: What should we do next?

Neathler: What about grabbing another drink and go for a walk along the beach? I’m sure our backs will be grateful.

Fenn: I wouldn’t mind a drink and walk. How about you Commander Marshall?

Marshall: Response

Fenn: Then we have a plan.

Maezel stood back up and made her way with her fellow officers back to the bar they had sat at before. Considering the plan to go and see the Rimviert Maezal concluded that a non-alcoholic drink was probably still a good idea.

Fenn: Commanders, you really must let me get the next round. I’m just going to have water. What would you both like?

Neathler / Marshall: Response

Fenn: ::reviewing the food menu again:: Would you both like to grab a light snack to eat on the move too?

Neathler / Marshall: Response
