((OOC: So sorry for the delay, had a somewhat wild weekend at work!))

(( H’thamtuhko Bathhouse, Upper vIq’mItlth City ))

Pace: Does the colony have a busy spaceport? Despite being QIn’HuD territory, it might still be the best place to “disappear”?

The Lieutenant nodded and double checked his tricorder.

Gnaxac: Seems t-t-to. And if they m-m-made it there, they c-c-could be literally anywhere.

Basso: And potentially outside Klingon or Starfleet territory.

Gnaxac: B-b-by the Exchequer… however would we f-f-find them if they g-g-got on a ship?

The Lieutenant Commander puffed out her cheeks and placed her hands on her hips, deep in thought. There was an awful lot to think about. If the lovers had absconded that far, why? What was going on here?

Finch: With the Orbital Docks and all those security measures in place, not to mention who they are, I can’t imagine getting off this planet is quite as easy a task as it is for your average run-of-the-mill Klingon.

Gnaxac let out a little sigh, relieved just like Vesela was. How odd Klingon politics were!

Basso: This still implies that Ruktah and J’nara are still together. We don’t even know if the two are still with each other or not.

Pace: If they aren’t, I bet it’s not by choice.

Out of nowhere, although most fights came out of nowhere now that Vesela thought about it, sounds of a Klingon kerfuffle floated through the formerly quiet bathhouse air. Finch peeked through the door, then beckoned the group to follow. Basso followed suit, Gnaxac not far behind, and Vesela last, as she was wont to be.

Finch: Coming from the main entrance, that is. ::She nodded to the others, eyes twinkling.:: Believe we’ve gathered all we can from here.

Basso: Yes, sir.

Pace: Agreed, sir.

Gnaxac nodded. The team began to lightly jog and Vesela cranked her fans up to max level. When they arrived at the entrance, there were a few Klingons in bathhouse uniforms all arguing quite loudly.

Finch: Mev’yap! ::She shouted, eyes reaching that of the tallest Klingon.:: You there, what’s going on?

Ukrar: This rat! Found sniffing around in rooms he has no right to be in. ::He growled, turning as the other man darted for the entrance doors.:: Argh! Do not run away, coward!

Basso: He might be who we are looking for.

Gnaxac: ::Pointing at the fleeing Klingon.:: After h-h-him!

Vesela grinned at Gnaxac.

Pace: Lieutenant, that was so cool!

Gesturing to the doors, Commander Finch led her team into the cold pouring rain. Vesela shivered, fans still at max level. Finch checked her tricorder at warp speed and had a plan in no time flat.

Finch: He’s heading for a one way turn. Gnaxac, Pace, you take the right street over there and try to block his exit. Basso and I will stay on his tail and do the same. Use the comms!

Basso: Aye, sir.

Gnaxac: Understood!

Vesela just let out a small involuntary groan and began to head down the alley.

Basso began running after the Klingon at alarming speed. Well, alarming for an Elaysian in normal gravity. Vesela followed Gnaxac as quickly as she could. Gnaxac had a hand over his tricorder and another over his phaser. Vesela looked like a targ on steroids trying to run straight and stay upright. The rain wasn’t helping anything either. She wondered if Gnaxac was looking at her, but knew if she turned her head she’d topple over at the soonest opportunity.

Basso: Under the authority of the veHrom’nagh government, halt!

Gnaxac: St-st-stop!

Finch: Response

From the sounds of splashing footsteps, that unfortunately did not work.

Then another sound, followed by a voice.

Basso: I’m alright!

Gnaxac: ::Nervously, to Pace.:: Any s-s-sign of them?

Pace: Nope! But, uh, I must admit most of my brain and willpower is currently going towards not eating pavement.

Finch / Basso: Response

The end of the alley snuck up on Vesela and she let out a surprised squeak as she almost tumbled straight into Finch and Basso.

Gnaxac: Where’d they g-g-go?

Pace: ::Breathlessly.:: How?

Finch / Basso: Response

Vesela whipped out her tricorder and started scanning.

Pace: There are a number of buildings they could have slipped into, but depending on how slippery they are they could have climbed to a roof.

Finch / Gnaxac / Basso: Response

Vesela turned her fans down now that there was a small break in the action.

Pace: There’s more than one lifesign in this area, and none of them seem to be moving with expediency we’ll probably have to make an educated gu–

A phaser bolt seared the wall behind the team.

Pace: Or not!

Finch / Gnaxac / Basso: Response
