After sampling some of the beverages available at Fenn’s shindig, the group got to discussing some of the stronger alcoholic beverages people had imbibed.
Sevo: Moonshine. Cory used to have a still making the stuff hidden in a storage room in Main Engineering, back when the ship was dry. Stuff could strip paint off the hull and put hair on your chest.
zh’Tisav: Uh, excuse me?
Fenn: ::confused:: Put hair on your chest…
Sevo: I have no idea what that last phrase means. This host can't grow chest hair. I think it's for the best.
There was a distinct pause as everyone tried to process the Human idiom. Or maybe imagining Ayiana with a chestful of thick, luxurious hair.
Sevo: But yea, moonshine. Vile stuff, but gets you hammered quick if you want to forget last week.
zh’Tisav: Wait, the storage room? In Engineering? I think I found some of the stuff. There was a bottle, hidden behind a loose wall panel. It had dried up but I could tell there was something in it that smelled odd.
Sevo: Yep, that’s it.
zh’Tisav: I tossed the bottle in the replicator. I didn’t look further, but there might still be stuff hidden back there.
Sallia: Gods, how long has that been?
Fenn: Sounds like a while. How long ago was this exactly?
Ayiana had to take a deep breath and think. It was quite a while ago.
Sevo: Um…around ten years ago, if I remember right.
Sallia: I’ve always wanted to try making my own.
zh’Tisav: You’d probably end up poisoning yourself. I’ve seen your old grades, remember? Chemistry was not your strong suit.
oO Oof. Oo
Sallia: It didn’t interest me. ::Quieter.:: And I kicked your *ss in art.
Fenn: If chemistry isn’t your thing I can help with that. If we can find the ingredients I’m sure we can bring in Crauw to help put it together.
Sevo: I’m…not sure it's wise to. The stuff was notorious for a reason. Besides, you can get decent approximations in the replicator. Mek might even store some authentic varieties. But what you do in your own quarters is your business.

Fenn: It’ll all be above board. You never know, we might end up with a drink unique to the Gorkon.
Maezel quite liked the idea. She enjoyed a good drink as much as the next person. Not that she had a problem or anything. She really could stop any time. The irony of her thinking about this was not lost on her as she took receipt of another glass of Bolian champagne.
Sevo: Well, Cory’s old “Warp Core Moonshine” was pretty popular. Maybe I can convince him to share the recipe. Though after years, I still haven’t convinced him to set up a new still.
Sallia / Zh’Tisav: Response
Fenn: Perhaps it’s just wishful thinking. It’s a nice idea though.
Sevo: His wasn’t the only, erm…non-regulatory distillery on the ship. Lots of places had hidden ones, like the science labs. We could get away with them sometimes if we justified the equipment as “necessary scientific equipment.” :: She quoted the last phrase.::

Sevo: Be that as it may, please don’t try to skim past regulations. As long as you’re responsible with your drinking, you should be fine. I really don’t want to see the ship dry again.

As they had talked, Ayiana noticed the place beginning to fill up with more attendees. She recognized most from the ship; stars, Fenn must have invited the entire crew!
