((Undersea Facility, Deep Trenches, Deluvia IV))
Officer Tirok had indicated that the Starfleet personnel were free to depart. Her colleagues were left with one final duty.
V’Lar: Whilst it might seem a trivial matter, the prompt return of this rented equipment is logically indicated. ::Pausing before subtly arching a single eyebrow:: After all, the report to the Admiral would not be well served by a second incident involving the Deluvian authorities.
Fenn: So transport back to the surface, swing by the diving place and then back to the ship.
V'Lar watched Ensign Fenn approach Officer Tirok. The Ensign positioned herself slightly behind the Deluvian while he studied his PADD.
Fenn: Sorry to interrupt Officer Tirok but could we trouble you for a transport to the surface? My friends and I are ready to leave.
Tirok: ::speaking into his communicator:: =/\= Tirok to Dispatch, beam the Starfleet Officers back to the surface. Authorisation Tirok-Alpha-Nine. =/\=
V'Lar moved into formation alongside her colleagues. The familiar azure shimmer of the Deluvian transporter beam enveloped them, accompanied by the standard sensation of molecular dematerialisation.
((Cochtois Lagoon, Deluvia IV))
As she rematerialised, the damaged bulkheads of the undersea facility had been replaced by the pier at the Cochtois Lagoon. The system's type-G star was already beginning to drop below the horizon, a clear indicator that their excursion had significantly exceeded its original chronological parameters.
Fenn: Well we’re back and it looks like the dive rental shop is still open.
V’Lar: That is fortuitous.
Fenn: Shall we get rid of this diving gear? I’m sure the Gorkon can beam us back after unless either of you fancies taking a flying lesson and stopping off at an illegal aerial base.
Rather than engage with the illogical suggestion of aerial pursuit, V'Lar followed her colleagues towards the rental kiosk.
After retrieving her clothing from the assigned locker, V'Lar utilised the privacy of the changing facilities to remove the rented aquatic wear. She then presented the wetsuit and tracking wristband back to the vendor, watching impassively to ensure the items were properly logged back in.
Sevo: Well, thanks for the swim. It did NOT go how I expected. I thought we’d just see some fish, have a chat, then end with some dinner somewhere. Did not expect to break a drug operation and capture a wanted man.
Despite the illicit narcotics facility and the aquatic combat, the excursion had provided a valuable opportunity to interact with her new colleagues in an off-duty setting. Their unpredictable reactions and chaotic operational methods, while highly inefficient, had proven surprisingly stimulating.
V’Lar: The parameters of the excursion did indeed shift radically. However, we did still get some exercise and aided in the dismantling of an illicit operation. It was an acceptable use of time.
Her gaze shifted to the Trill's hand.
V’Lar: I advise you to seek medical attention for your hand once aboard the Gorkon, Commander.
V'Lar watched the Commander offer a final nod before returning to the public transport pad and dematerialising. With the Trill's departure, V'Lar turned her attention to the remaining officer.
V’Lar: Will you be returning directly to the Gorkon? If you do so, I advise you to also report to Sickbay for a standard evaluation.
Fenn: Response
Now, she would return to the Gorkon and the isolation of her perfectly calibrated quarters. A space entirely devoid of the variables introduced by other sentient beings. Since she had been assigned the space, not a single member of the crew had crossed its threshold. It was a state of perfect, undisturbed order.
V’Lar: I shall be returning to my quarters.
Fenn: Response
V'Lar inputted her desired destination, then stepped onto the pad.
As the transport sequence initiated, she registered a minor, anomalous drop in her internal baseline, a sudden, stark awareness of the undisturbed order she was returning to. She dismissed the sensation. No doubt it was nothing more than a sensory anomaly as her neural pathways were deconstructed by the transporter.
