Lt. JG L'rann - An Odd Group Meeting

L’rann had noticed a peculiar open invite on the ship’s message boards. Something to do with the lower decks and their involvement on the day-to-day running of the ship. As an operations officer, L’rann was quite familiar with the importance of the minutiae of running a ship. Thus, she found herself in the ship’s library alongside several other people from multiple departments. The lead and creator of the group was Crewman Lojah Oded, yeoman and assistant to the Mission Specialists’ office.
Oded: Good morning all, I’m glad you could make it.
She looked around the small select group. All departments were represented.
Oded: I thought it would be an idea to get together and maybe share some ideas.
L’rann perked her ears up, curious about what the woman had in mind.
L’rann: Ideas on what?
Anyone: Response
Oded: Well, we’re an important resource on this ship. The senior staff rely on us for information on planning missions. And yet we never really see each other. I’m sure we all have different ways of working, and it makes sense to figure out what works, what doesn’t.
L’rann remained quiet. She wasn’t sure what the woman was trying to explain.
Anyone: response
Oded: Maybe we should start by introducing ourselves?
L’rann: Very well.
The gold-shouldered Caitian stood up, straightening her tunic.
L’rann: *ahem* Lieutenant Junior Grade L’rann, Operations officer. I also frequently man communications and pilot shuttles.
Anyone: response
Once everyone had introduced themselves, Oded continued her explanation.
Oded: Response
Anyone: Response
L’rann: I’m not sure what you’re intending with this group. I regularly run across people from different departments in my operations duties.
Oded: Response
Anyone: Response
L’rann: I often shuffle materiel between departments, or from storage. You’d be surprised how fast scientists and engineers go through things.
