((Unimatrix Seventeen))
Vylaa was uncomfortable. Borg didn’t care about comfort, and the unimatrix was the perfect example. It was hot and humid, a veritable sauna and about as far from the cold comfort of Andoria as you could get. They’d barely been released by the transporter beam and the zhen had already broken out in a sweat. But at least the chamber they had beamed into was Borg-free at the moment. It seemed to be a small storeroom, and so off the normal route of any roving drones.
She led them out to the corridor, phaser in her hand; the other hand on her new hrisal, ensconced at her hip in it’s new sheath. A heavy duffel bag hung over her shoulder. The corridor was lined with alcoves, some in use, most not. A few drones roamed by, but so far ignored them like flies on the wall. That wouldn’t last.
Reynolds: =/\= Reynolds to zh'Tisav. =/\=
zh'Tisav: =/\= Here. =/\=
Reynolds: =/\= What’s your status? =/\=
zh'Tisav: =/\= As near as we can tell, right where we planned. Opposite side of the data node from Tahna’s team and everyone else. Ready to draw the Borg in the opposite direction. =/\=
Standish / Taelon: =/\= Response =/\=
Reynolds: =/\= I wish I could tell you to do the minimum and get out of there. But you have to cover the other teams for as long as they need. Keep it as subtle as you can—we need the Borg distracted, not on high alert. =/\=
zh'Tisav: =/\= You want subtle but you sent the giant blue Andorian…?=/\=
Standish / Taelon: =/\= Response =/\=
Reynolds: =/\= I’ll let you get to work. Reynolds out. =/\=
Vylaa observed her team. A doctor and a scientist. Not exactly a demolition team. No one to watch their backs. Gods, she’d even have Jhana along, despite their almost-animosity towards one another. Or even an exocomp with a phaser.
They were probably all going to die.
Or worse.
zh'Tisav: =/\= We’ll do our best. zh’Tisav out. =/\=
Standish / Taelon: =/\= Response =/\=
The channel closed, leaving the trio alone with the Borg. It was quiet for a moment, the only sound being the background noise of the stations systems.
zh’Tisav: Any suggestions? I know the Admiral said subtle, but Borg don’t exactly respond to subtle. They tend to ignore you until you get their attention. We’re going to have to wreck stuff.
Standish / Taelon: response
Vylaa shook the bag over her shoulder.
zh’Tisav: I’ve brought some toys. Backup weapons, and some chain detonators, that type of stuff. You know, Andorian distractions. But we should probably be careful how we use those.
