((Adarak, Kendra Valley, Bajor))
After navigating the pedlars labyrinth that was the Adarak market, the three rocket-fueled officers, that is to say Doz, Sami and Tali buzzing from their jin’sarras, found themselves inside a quaint little shop nestled between scattered buildings and houses a little off the beaten track. The shop, with walls and racks strewn with garments, scarves and shawls of every kind, had beckoned them in with its hanging prismatic chimes and their gentle tintinnabulation.
Neathler was sporting an olive garment, which Doz squinted at in thought.
Neathler: Wrong colour? Or maybe the yellow one?
She removed the shawl and placed it back, picking another colour—this time a vibrant shade of yellow.
Namura: I like that better than the green. Brings out the red in your cheeks.
Finch: And the brown of your eyes, too!
She threw the woman a smile, before turning her attention back to another rack, paying particular attention to a silvery garment with a long fringe coming off its hem. Scintillating like icy brinicles, she ran a hand through it, its texture as delicate and as light as a spider's web.
Neathler: Now we still need to find something for Doz.
Finch: I think I’ll take this cheeky little number. Pair it with some matching trousers, a smart pair of shoes… Oh! I wonder if they sell earrings here too? Let’s push the boat out.
Neathler: ::She winked towards the others.:: Now hopefully we can gain back the cost of this at the casino.
Namura: If not, it was only worth a month's wages. ::Her sly smile returned.:: Well, a month of the First Officer's wages.
Doz nodded approvingly, her face a canvas of lines. Sami looked bright and stylish in her yellow number, glistering like a lemony sunbeam, while Tali was an infusion of eloquence in her celestial indigo number, both highly complementing to her own silvery grey garb, sparkling in moonlight hues, with crescent moon earrings to boot.
Finch: Either way, we look the part! And then some. Now then, let’s not waste anymore time! The “Celestial Wheel” calls!
(("The Celestial Wheel", Hathon, Kendra Province))
The trio passed beneath the ornate archways of the Celestial Wheel's foyer and into the grand atrium. Ancient art and holographic images greeted them at every turn, as well as a mystical scent that sent her old mind into a whirlwind of nostalgia that she couldn’t quite pinpoint. Her head was pointed here, there and everywhere, almond eyes sucking in every wonderment, ears syphoning every sound.
Namura: Do you feel that? In the air? I'm quite sure it's chemical. ::She took a deep breath regardless and almost sighed with the melting sensation that rippled down her spine.:: And quite magnificent.
Finch: Not half! ::She inhaled deeply:: God, what a place, Tali!
Neathler: Response
As they continued to move through the resplendent gamblers paradise, wafts of that chemical aroma massaging her senses with its delicious caress, her jaw nearly hit the floor. The atrium opened up to reveal an incredible pool, already splendiferous, but beyond that revelation and floating above it there was an orb, seemingly suspended through some sort of feat. Was it magnetic? Thermodynamic? Controlled by air? Her engineering mind tried to make sense of it, but really couldn’t. So naturally it had to be something altogether more…mystical.
Namura: Imagine if we had this on the Gorkon.
Finch: Nothing a little miscalculation of the intermix chamber couldn’t provide! ::Looking up:: Though I probably wouldn’t recommend it. ::She cackled::
Neathler: Response
Dressed in a translucent, gossamer fabric, a smiling Bajoran man, good-looking but far too young for Doz, greeted the trio, and Tali instantly reached a concealed fan to blow away her cobwebs.
Varan: Good evening, I am Varan, your humble guide through this enchanting realm. You've chosen a divine time to join our cosmic festivities. How may I be of service?
Finch: Hello Varan, I’m Doz. ::She held out a hand for him to kiss, and her face simpered to a flannel-like extremity, enjoying the atmosphere::
Neathler/Namura: Response
Finch: A round of drinks would be a good start! None of that Springwine stuff though, it’s a little too weak for Sami here. She likes it stiffer.
Finch elbowed the woman amusedly, and further threw Tali a wink, as Varan’s eyes continued to shimmer with grace in their direction. Had she been only forty years younger! But still, being an older woman had its perks. Arms instantly linking with Varan’s, she had claimed her escort for the evening, and he’d have no say in the matter.
Neathler/Namura: Response
Finch: Lead the way, Varan! ::She beamed excitedly at the other two women as they moved through the casino, her arms linked with his:: Now just how does that orb hang there like that, Varan?
Neathler/Namura: Response
