(( Transporter Room 3, USS Gorkon ))
The doctor and helmsman had changed into more casual clothing and then met back up at the transporter area. Before they had separated, they had discussed which area on Adamas they would beam down to, and Spelvan had put a note on the ship's message boards, inviting others to join them.
Spelvan: Greetings... may I call you Ethan now, as we are out of a professional capacity? Are you ready to depart?
Espinoza: Better than some of the names I’ve been called outside of a professional capacity. Whatever floats your boat, doc. I’m ready if you are.
Spelvan nodded in response. Nicknames and insults were not a Vulcan indulgence, though he had run across plenty in the Academy.
They stepped up onto the transporter platform together. Spelvan thought that Ethan looked good in his casual wear. The attraction that he was experiencing had not yet faded, he observed as he consciously stopped himself from staring. The doctor had never quite gotten used to the unobservant nature of non-Vulcans; if Ethan had been a Vulcan, Spelvan surely would have gotten a reprimand for being indecent by now.
He would just have to be courageous and voice his... feelings... directly. Soon.
Espinoza: Bad time to mention I really, really hate big cities?
Spelvan: ::He raised an eyebrow,:: I think it may be, yes.
Espinoza: Too many buildings. Too many people. Too many stalls tryna shill you questionable things. I get serious FOMO, too, ‘n end up gettin’ pressured into gettin’ a ton of crap I don’t need. Total nightmare. If anyone saw my room back home they’d think I made a sport out of hoardin’ useless garbage.
Spelvan considered the little trinket he'd gotten from the mall adventure he had gone on with Vy'laa and Ayiana. That was an exception to the rule in his case, though his brother was similar to Ethan. Jakk's husband often referred to him as a "magpie" for his easily distractible nature.
Spevan: On the contrary. I'm sure your collection of random objects is quite tasteful.
Ethan snorted and then tensed up unnaturally as the transporter whisked the pair away.

((Tourist Transport & Welcome Center, Edge of the Burrows, Adamas))
The locale they were transported to was somewhat dark, an enclosed hub with lifts and ships arriving and departing to take tourists to other parts of the city.
The transporter pad led the pair to an open area littered with benches, a handful of informational kiosks, and a dedicated informational desk staffed by a stone-gray Brikar. There was also a replicator in the corner with a sign reading OUT OF ORDER in Federation Standard and another language that Spelvan was unfamiliar with.
There was a flicker of the lights above them, as a reasonable number of people weaved in and out of the center, surrounding the Starfleet officers with a thrum of chatter. Spelvan flinched at the flicker that was reminiscent of the facility of Gibaria - and realized that he hadn't thought of the mission all day. Ethan was a good distraction, it seemed.
Spelvan: It seems this area has seen better days. I hope the transporter was not too stressful for you?
Espinoza: Response
The Vulcan approached one of the kiosks curiously.
Spelvan: We can search for activities while we wait for any additional crew members to join us.
Espinoza/Any: Response
Spelvan thumbed his way through the kiosk's many, many offerings - mostly stores and restaurants and bars. He saw something rather frightening looking called the Adamantine Run, which seemed to be a circuit that ran straight down the city's many towers.
But it did give the doctor an idea, and he searched more thoroughly in the kiosk. Perhaps Ethan liked racing. Spelvan could now say that he had rudimentary experience operating such vehicles after last shore leave and wasn't opposed to giving it another try.
He found an established business that boasted "the best Go-Kart racing in Adamas!" with an address deep in the lower areas of the city. Spelvan didn't know what go-karts were but there was a picture of a land vehicle similar to the one he had driven in the holodeck with Admiral and Pace. And the course was not vertical at the very least.
He waved Ethan over, indicating the advertisement with his pointer finger.
Spelvan: This seems it may be an amenable activity, Ethan.
Espinoza/Any: Response
