The team ditched their pursuers.  Now they were trying to form a new plan to fix the fissure.  With the time bubbles in the area, it was a wrench in the works that threw everything off.

Stoyer:  I’d hate to stumble back into another one and it throw us off again.

zh’Tisav: If we keep going in this direction though, we at least won’t run into the same bubble though, right?

Neathler: Unless… ::She looked at Vylaa and Cory.:: The bubbles move around?

That was something Cory hadn’t thought about.  Of course he didn’t give time and the applications like this any thought.  A moving time bubble.  Starfleet scientists would have a field day with it.

zh’Tisav: So the question I have, is how do we find one of those buildings? Based on the direction we’ve been traveling, and the map, we should run into one if we keep going this way. But that time bubble has me questioning everything…

Neathler: Going forward is the best way to go.

Cory looked in the direction that they were thinking of going.  Nothing but foliage and trees.  If a building was there it was well hidden.

Stoyer: Forward is always good.  Moving time bubbles is something we don’t train for.

zh’Tisav: What if one of us climbed one of the shorter trees, just until they can see one of those big buildings?

Stoyer: I could give it a try.  I climbed my share of trees as a child.

His brother and him used to have a pretty nice tree fort as kids.  Cory looked around to see a good candidate to climb.  As he looked around, he heard a thud.  Turning back to the group Cory saw Doc Bryce sitting on the ground with Sami nearby.  The thud was Doc’s PADD hitting the ground.  Cory headed over to help Sami lean Bryce against a tree trunk.

Neathler: Bryce?

Cory assisted Sami in checking Bryce out.  He had some basic training in first aid.  Luckily for him his Tricorder did help him understand what was going on with Bryce.  Sami reached the same conclusion.  She got out a blanket and some rations for Bryce from her backpack.  He stood as she stood after making Bryce as comfortable as possible.

Neathler: Change of plans. Something in the meds is working against him. ::She paused and looked at Bryce.:: I don’t like it, but we’ll move faster if we leave him behind and return for him later on. There‘s no sign of anyone nearby, so you should be safe.

Cory nodded.  This wasn’t the first time he left someone behind on an away mission.  It was one of the hardest decisions he had to make.  Cory fumbled in his satch and pulled out his tool pouch.  Opening the tool pouch, he pulled out a transporter tag.  He clipped it on Vryce’s uniform.  Standing he looked at the others.

Stoyer:  On my first away mission onboard the Gorkon, The away team leader was the XO, Commander Chen.  He was injured and was too heavy for us to move.  So, I made the decision to leave him in a closet with a transporter tag that one of the other team members carried.  It was one of the hardest things I have ever done.  So, I decided to carry one in my tool pouch on every mission, just in case.  I don’t think it will help much.  But it can’t hurt.

zh’Tisav: Response

Cory replaced his tool pouch and made a note on his PADD to replace the tag when he got back to the Gorkon.  He looked over at Sami and nodded his readiness to move.  As the team moved out Sami looked back at Bryce and Cory understood completely what she was thinking and going through.  It was a hard choice to leave someone behind.

Neathler: We should reach a line of buildings soon. ::She swapped the PADD for her tricorder.:: No life signs ahead of us.

Stoyer:  That helps things a bit.

zh’Tisav: Response

IT didn’t take long for the trees to thin a bit and buildings to start appearing.  The team stopped at the edge of the treeline to take a look at things.  Sami pointed to a ruined building with large pile of rubble.

Neathler: That one looks easier to climb.

Cory nodded.

Stoyer:  Yeah, Commander.  As long as nothing shifts, we should be able to reach the top.

zh’Tisav: Response

The team started toward the building making good time, but keeping alert for more locals.  With the shifting bubbles, Cory didn’t want to take chances.  Fortunately, they reached the building without incident.

Stoyer:  We made it this far.

Neathler / zh’Tisav: Response

Cory looked up at the building.  It looked solid enough.  No cracks in the foundation.  The building looked like an office type building, with multiple levels.

Stoyer:  It looks like a good place to take a look.

Neathler / zh’Tisav: Response
