(( Cochtois Lagoon - Deluvia IV ))

Xenobiology, one of the specialties science had to offer. Though the explanation Ensign Fenn provided, made Samira swallow. Somehow she got the impression the ensign and Taelon would get along fine. As long as neither of them created a Borg 2.0. Take a piece of specimen A, embed it in specimen B and see what comes out of it. What had Fenn said? Make something better? But what if the opposite happened? Maybe it was time to keep a closer eye on all the projects where scientists were involved, once she returned to the Gorkon.

Neathler: You'll get to meet them in time and get to know them and Taelon's special project.

First they had a game of limbo to beat. They being not Samira. The bar had fallen into the sand on her second attempt. At least her brothers hadn’t seen it, otherwise she’d have to hear it for months. Just like before Maezel stepped towards the bar, arched her back and give it another attempt. Unfortunately for the Bolian the bar had a mind of its own this time, and it fell into the sand.

Fenn: Darn, almost had it!

The ensign returned to them, stretching her back trying to recover for the unhealthy position. Shaking her head she looked at them.

Fenn: I’m looking forward meeting the rest of the science team. What’s Taelon’s special project about?

Marshall: Response

Neathler: I think he seldom leaves his quarters without his droid. And depending on missions he can switch certain modules that will help them in the field.

Aria had been quite helpful during their fight against the Borg and what followed next. It was also the first time Samira had seen the droid in action. Though to be mentally linked to a piece of technology went one step too far for Samira.

Fenn: That sounds really cool! I’d appreciate an introduction if I don’t get to meet him on shore leave. ::pause:: In fact, tell me about the science team on the Gorkon. What are they like?

Neathler: Like most people on the ship, very helpful, inventive and they will perform beyond their limits to try to solve a problem.

Marshall: Response

Fenn: And who is the Chief Science Officer? I noticed the crew manifest doesn’t list one.

Samira exchanged a look with Jo. With Tahna stepping up as First Officer, the science department currently had no department head but it was just a matter of Quinn signing a PADD and appoint someone as head of the science team. In the meantime, Valesha Sienelis did a good job as assistant chief, even if a handful of people would claim otherwise.

Marshall: Response

Neathler: Valesha is doing a good job, and her and Soup’s daughter is just adorable. It’s difficult to believe she’s already three years old.

It was weird, for some reason, Johns was the only person Samira still referred to by his Skarbek name when she talked about Chris. Maybe it had something to do with both Valesha and Soup being the first persons to accept her in the Skarbek universe so many years ago.

Marshall / Fenn: Response

Samira sat down in the sand, watching the rest of the limbo game unfold in front of them. With the bar lowered another ten centimeters, it was almost impossible for humanoids to waddle underneath the bar. She looked at Fenn.

Neathler: Do you have special beach games back on Bolarus? Something that's doable for multiple species?

Maybe something they could introduce here at Deluvia, it shouldn't be that difficult, should it?

Marshall / Fenn: Response

Neathler: What about grabbing another drink and go for a walk along the beach? I’m sure our backs will be grateful.

Marshall / Fenn: Response
