((Cockpit, USS Kahnrah — Time Index: Early 2367))
Gnaxac was, to put it frankly, mildly terrified. The last time he’d been in such close quarters with Reynolds was also a timey-wimey adventure, and at least that time they had quite a full team. This time, it was just him, a scary Admiral, and the former XO who’s honesty and humour Gnaxac found endearing and imposing. To be alone with the pair of them was really quite the chance to impress some higher ranks, but it was also going against Gnaxac’s natural urge to stay beneath the radar.
He listened silently as Reynolds delivered her various updates and orders to the assorted away teams, the Ferengi anxiously tapping his fingertips together in want of anything else to do.
Reynolds: How’s it looking?
Gnaxac: S-s-see for yourself, Admiral.
Marshall: Response
Gnaxac forwarded his scans and collated information over to the Admiral. It was a comprehensive list of everything Johnson had taken, and which they assumed was on this weapons platform they were approaching.
Reynolds: This is all the information we have from Depot 39. All the tech he stole, plus its intended and potential applications. Not only do we have to stop that weapons platform from firing, we need to destroy it so completely that no one can ever guess what it was, let alone use it. We’re talking about reducing it to component atoms.
Gnaxac let out a noise that was halfway between a nervous chuckle and a strangled cry.
Gnaxac: S-s-sounds d-d-difficult.
Marshall: Response
Reynolds: Well, the first challenge will be to get aboard. I can’t imagine he left it up to fate that it wouldn’t get any unwanted visitors.
Gnaxac looked between the Admiral and the Commander, acutely aware that they both had more command and experience in their tiny humanoid earlobes than Gnaxac did in his magnificent Ferengi lobes.
Gnaxac: D-d-do we have any scans of the weapons p-p-platform, we c-c-could seek a b-b-ackdoor?
Marshall / Reynolds: Response
Gnaxac: Or p-p-perhaps we c-c-can convince it we’re f-f-friendly?
Marshall / Reynolds: Response
