(( Undersea Facility, Deep Trenches, Deluvia IV ))

The situation in the facility was going from somewhat creepy to strange. Having found a turbo lift the first surprise that met the officers was the turbo lift controls being written in Bolian. Maezel had pressed the button for the Control Centre and she hoped that they would find more answers there.

Fenn: Relax, I can read it... ::pause:: ...because the turbolift destinations are written in Bolian.

Sevo: Bolian? Here? That’s odd.

V’Lar: Indeed.

Sevo: Look at the floor listing. Even without being able to read it, I can tell there’s significant sub-flooring.

V’Lar: Ensign, does the text indicate the purpose of the facility?

Fenn: Unfortunately, no. ::pointing to each of the floor listings in turn:: These are just the alphabetised decks, A through J. This symbol here means storage or cargo area and the symbol at the bottom translates to something along the lines of engineering or power generation.

Sevo: We’ll see what the C&C has to say, first. If there’s anyone here, they should be there.

After a short turbolift ride the doors hissed open to reveal an empty room full of consoles displaying all kinds of data. Maezel glances around but aside from a severe lack of crew there was nothing that seemed out of place.

Fenn: This is so weird. Control centres should be staffed 24/7.

Sevo: No one home, apparently.

V’Lar: This is advantageous. We can access the main computer without resistance.

Fenn: True enough.

V’Lar: Ensign, given the linguistic barrier, it would be logical for you to interface with the primary terminal.

Maezel thought this was probably a good idea. If the lift controls had been in Bolian then there was a good chance that the rest of the facility operated on the same language.

Fenn: Sure, give me two seconds I’ll see what I can find out.

V’Lar: I would suggest we focus on ascertaining the facility's designation and operational status.

Fenn: Agreed.

Sevo: Responses

Maezel moved to what appeared to be the master terminal in the center of the room. Logically, if this was a Bolian designed facility then the Commander’s station would be located in the center of the room. Bolians live and breathe collaboration with an attitude of enabling and support being the principal management style culturally.

V’Lar: Commander Sevo, observe the state of the room. No sign of damage or distress, yet unoccupied. Do you have any theories?

Sevo: Response

V’Lar: Interesting, please continue.

Sevo: Response

Fenn: Commanders, sorry to interrupt but Commander V’Lar was correct; the computer system is in Bolian by default.

Sevo / V’Lar: Response

Maezel accessed the language settings of the main computer and with a few swift taps of the screen switched the language to one they could all understand.

Fenn: I’ve taken the liberty to switch the language on terminals to Federation standard so you should both be able to understand what’s going on now.

Sevo / V’Lar: Response

Maezel continued tapping away on the master console so another minute or so.

Fenn: ::waving for the others to look at her screen:: So looking at the station’s various registries it looks like the main computer is of Bolian origin which explains the language, the hull is local to Deluvia and the other systems come from various places around the Federation. Whoever built this place and got all these components working together is an absolute genius.

Sevo / V’Lar: Response
