((Holodeck 8, Deck 9, USS-Gorkon))
And thus when he heard about a Vulcan course in suus mahna, granted he had to look up what suus mahna really was, he figured he’d give it a try. He didn’t want to end up on a course where he learned to stare into a flame for half a day. Together with the other eager students, he had joined in firing away harmless questions towards their tutor, a Vulcan who also was a medical doctor. Hopefully, they wouldn’t need his medical expertise after the course.
Learning the Vulcan nerve pinch was out of the question for a humanoid like him, unless he ever had a mind meld with a Vulcan, which so far, was a big no-no in his PADD. It was a neat trick, of course, it wouldn’t help much if the opponent was on the other side of the street. He grinned as he looked towards the others. He had to ask.
Crauw: And does suus mahna help us dodge a nerve pinch? Or is it just a matter of never turning your back towards the enemy?
Fenn: Good question. And if you do happen to be in a situation where your back is towards an adversary, what should you do?
Spelvan: Response
Lachlan listened attentively. The more he heard about it, the more he was convinced it was something he could learn. Though if it took a Vulcan years to learn suus mahna, how much would he be able to learn and how long would it take?
Fenn: That is truly fascinating. Are there any grappling and ground fighting techniques in Suus-Mahna?
Spelvan: Response
He watched as Spelvan demonstrated another thing, narrowing his eyes as he took in all the details.
Crauw: Could you show that move again, my friend? It happened so fast, I’m not sure I saw it all.
Spelvan / Fenn: Response
Seeing it was one thing. Repeating the move himself was another. The movement and position of his hands, feet, his torso, all combined together, would floor his opponent. But one wrong move, he might hurt himself or give his adversary the upper hand.
Crauw: Does suus mahna also present a solution for non-close combat?
Spelvan / Fenn: Response
