((Concordia District, Adamas))
While talking with Jo, Tahna, and Doz, Quinn's gaze briefly drifted with the clouds. She wasn't sure where duty would take them next, but even if she hoped to avoid diplomacy, she agreed with the desire for something quieter and mundane. Something that might allow her to spend a little more time with Dylan, before he disappeared into the halls of the Academy for the next four years.
Reynolds: Have you got any particular plans for shore leave? There's so much to do here, I'm not really sure where to start. ::She paused for a moment.:: Fenn's throwing a party, but the admiral rolling up tends to put a dampener on such things.
Marshall: The Admiral maybe, Quinn Reynolds, however— ::She swung her gaze to her friend with mischief.:: I heard she knows how to do a cold start drag on a Class-IV impulse racer, from a full cold stop. Don't tell her I'm impressed, though. I have a reputation.
Reynolds: Our secret.
She breathed out a chuckle, a smile catching. Perhaps she would swing by. Maybe with an excuse prepared, so if the room changed a little too much with her presence, she could make a quick and graceful exit. Quinn knew there were plenty of commanding officers who mingled fine with their crew. It had been one of the things she'd admired most about Rhys, her first captain. Unfortunately, she had the unwieldy mix of being naturally guarded and an admiral.
Tahna / Finch: Response
Marshall: I haven't made any plans yet, mostly just… sleeping and eating. Exploring the Burrows later, maybe. See what's down there. It looks like Nassau built up franchise options and offered them out.
Despite knowing that the clouds completely blocked the view of the city below, Quinn couldn't help but glance down. She'd grown up on Mars, so she knew a little something about being surrounded by technology, but Adamas took it to another level. As soon as she thought it, she resisted the temptation to roll her eyes at the inadvertent mental pun, then glanced toward Tahna and Doz to hear their plans.
Tahna / Finch: Response
Jo turned, leaning her elbows on the balustrade. She was never one to let her walls down for too long, and Quinn could almost see the bricks sliding into place. Normal cheer rebuilt, humour laid like mortar. Sometimes she worried, and sometimes she reminded herself that her friend was far from alone. Erin probably saw more of Jo's unguarded self than she did.
Marshall: I've got my eye on a circuit called the Adamantine Run, a registered open altitude course using the vertical range of the spires, with a thermal section at the bottom that'll either make your day or ruin it. There's a hire facility in the base of Spire Seven for micro-fusion runners. ::She raised her hands in a mock surrender.:: I'm just saying. It's out there. As a concept.
Now Quinn laughed. Jo knew exactly what she was doing, and it earned the blonde a look of both amusement and interest. It sounded like far too much fun to pass up.
Reynolds: That's like saying a pot of honey is only a concept when placed in front of a bear.
Tahna / Finch: Response
Marshall: Rumour has it there's a thermal quarter somewhere I haven't found yet. Communal float tanks, spa facilities, the works.
Reynolds: You're suggesting a spa day? ::She smiled.:: I wouldn't say no. We could rope Sami in as well.
Sami deserved the pampering, and Quinn remembered how much the woman had enjoyed the hot springs on Andoria. It had been pure bliss, sinking tired muscles into the hot waters, sipping tea and watching the stars shine overhead, simply enjoying each other's company. No doubt the experience on Adamas would be wildly different, but they had joked about visiting a spa on every planet they visited, and perhaps it was time to make good on that.
Tahna / Finch / Marshall: Response
Reynolds: There's an orbital skydive station I've been looking at. ::She grinned.:: It's all very strictly controlled, for obvious reasons, but parachuting down past all the towers sounds like an experience you won't find anywhere else.
