(( Stellar Cartography - USS Gorkon ))

Andrew had been called to the Cartography room by a superior officer, who had wanted suggestions for a place to go to on Adamas where they could get to know one another along with another crewmember. Andrew wasn’t fully sure about going back to the planet so soon, and yet…finding a place to go that filled the requirements would be interesting.

Doran: A welcome challenge, for sure.

The Commander punched in a few commands and the scene changed so they could see different locations on the planet. Valek was always impressed with the technology in Cartography. It made things more 'visible' from a wide perspective.

Neathler: I’d think the lower regions are out of the question. I mean all you’ll have for a view are buildings. I'd like something more adventurous.

Valek: An intriguing thought, Commander.

Neathler eyed the scene before her, only showing the buildings from a certain level, highlighting the tallest buildings.

Neathler: How about something above cloud level? Neither of you is afraid of heights?

Valek: ::Tilting his head slightly:: One concern most Vulcans do not share is a fear of heights.

Doran: I’m not bothered by heights

Being on a ship in outer space would likely be his worst nightmare otherwise. Neathler continued to punch in commands as the large map changed scenes, some of the buildings turned green as she finished typing in her commands.

Neathler: Those are our best options then.

Valek: Perhaps one of those structures contains a high-rise tea house. That would be an optimal setting to... relax.

Doran: I do like tea…

Still he had a feeling that Neathler was aiming for something specific.

Neathler: Have either of you ever been to a similar planet?

Valek: Unfortunately Commander, this is the first Ecumenopolis planet I have visited.

Doran: This is my first time too. I have literally only been to other countries on Earth.

Though there were cities on Earth, none of them quite compared to the city on Adamas.

Valek looked at Neathler and Andrew. Andrew wasn’t sure what the Vulcan might be thinking.

Valek: If nothing suitable is available in the high-rise structures, perhaps a walk through the city would be acceptable. It would provide an opportunity to survey the area and identify any potential concerns.

Doran: They do have at least one tour available that I know of.

Neathler: Respond

Valek: I have no strong preference. I am receptive to whatever suggestions you may have.

Doran: If I may…if we can’t find anything suitable then we could always use the holodeck to create an environment. Maybe some places will deliver food.

Andrew crossed his arms and grew thoughtful.

Doran: Then again, if you really wanted a break from the ship then maybe the tea house is the best option.

Valek / Neathler: Respond

Andrew looked over the green buildings and sighed lightly.

Doran: I really wish there were more options with some greenery. It’s almost like the people of the planet are allergic to plants. Or like the city outgrew the need for nature.

Valek / Neathler: Respond

They probably have ways to create oxygen without plants, or they were really good at hiding anything that had a semblance to life. Personally, he would find seeing only buildings all the time boring, but maybe that was because he had been born in a land that was quite a bit more lush in comparison.

Then again…a part of him is almost thankful for the lack of plants, considering what his last training mission was like.

Doran: That being said, I truly don’t have a preference for where we go.

Valek / Neathler: Respond
