((Transporter Room 1, USS Gorkon))
Taelon had hurried, but it seemed he and ARIA were the last of the group to arrive at the transporter room. He flushed, apologetic.
Taelon: Admiral, Commanders - my apologies. I hope you’ve not been, um, waiting too long…
The unknown man must have been ‘the other’ Sevo. Taelon still wasn’t sure how that worked; he wasn’t the sort to look at crew manifests unless he had to, finding it felt oddly invasive.
T. Sevo: Just got here myself, sir.
V’Lar: Your timeliness is noted, Lieutenant Taelon.
There was a faint bite to the Vulcan’s words - real or only in his mind, it had the same effect. His flush deepened and his gaze dropped, turning hurriedly to other Sevo.
Reynolds: Response
Taelon: Oh, um, nice to meet you, sir.
T. Sevo: Oh no, I salute you, sir. I’m just a JG. ::He pointed to his single gold and single black pip.::
Taelon’s eyes snapped to the man’s collar. So he was. Another layer of questions, none of which were relevant. Later, he hoped, he might understand. But for now, they had to hurry. They couldn’t stand around for any longer.
Reynolds: Response
Taelon: Do we have a bead on our informant’s location?
T. Sevo: By calling me, sir, I assume things are dangerous down there and you need more security? ::He asked Reynolds. ::
Reynolds: Response
V’Lar: We have already encountered multiple instances of aggression, it would be logical to anticipate further such danger.
T. Sevo: Any special security arrangements I need to know about? From your quick briefing, it sounds like you suspect more assasination attempts down there?
Taelon nodded along politely. He had little to add - it seemed that this Sevo had the basic idea, and trying to explain the whole sequence would just delay them further.
Reynolds: Response
T. Sevo: Fully prepared, sir. Will we be beaming down to the last known location of this Ep’ehko directly?
Reynolds: Response
V'Lar: Do we have any additional support available should we require it?
Taelon hoped so, though he thought back to Reynold’s instinct about going down equipped for battle. Support could be called, he assumed, but not brought with.
Reynolds / T. Sevo: Responses
V'Lar: I am ready to proceed.
Taelon: As am I, Admiral.

The group took up their positions on the oh-so-familiar pad, the lights aglow above and below them. Taelon tried not to think about the dilemma of the transporter; he closed his eyes as the shimmering, darkening veil swept over him.
The darkness didn’t really go away as the city once again manifested around them. The ring’s shadow was moving, a soft, dull light just over the horizon, but it still shrouded the already dreary city in darkness.
Klingons were a colorful sort, but their architecture wasn’t; it was dark, brutalistic, and utilitarian. Taelon thought, longingly, of the palaces he’d seen during his time with Kaskis - beautifully vaulted stone ceilings, carved mosaics a hundred feet long and ten feet high, stunning carpets in red, cold, black and yellow.
The average Klingon did not live in such splendor, and Ep’ehko clearly was living averagely. They’d appeared on the street outside an apartment block, the slitted tier windows rising in uniform rows all the way to the flat roof.
ARIA began its scan, the bot lighting up.
Reynolds / V’lar / T. Sevo: Responses
Taelon: Um, the colony records say their apartment is - Su'roq jav cha’chorgh. Floor six, apartment eighteen. They-
He was cut off as, far above, a small window shattered. The falling glass shimmered against the sky as Taelon stared up, eyes wide.
Reynolds / V’lar / T. Sevo: Responses
The group all but dove into the building. A lift sat ready to carry them up, and it would hopefully be faster than the stairs. Taelon dashed towards it, holding the doors open for the others.
