(( Observation Bay, near Engineering
Annex, Gibaria Outpost ))
With the shuttle now stabilised and ready for general repair the trio stood in the observation bay relieved
that Kovar hadn’t been killed. Unfortunately, they’d had little time to breathe as a series of loud slamming sounds came from the direction of the bay entrance. Something was clearly trying to force entry which caused Maezel a fresh bout of anxiety.
Fenn: ::placing a trembling hand on her phaser:: What do we do?
Kovar / Marshall: Response
Suddenly, the door exploded in a shower of metallic splinters and jagged shrapnel. The force of the act
scattered pieces of metal well into the room, almost hitting the officers. Maezel flinched slightly before stepping behind her console to avoid being hit by the fast flying metal.
In place of the entrance stood a vicious looking creature – four legs, rough midnight blue fur and crimson
eyes. Normally, Maezel would leap at the chance to study new forms of life but the snarling creature flashing sharp claws and razor-like teeth which dripped with thick, bloody saliva didn’t look like it was in the mood for any amount scientific investigation.
oO Not good... Oo
Maezel quickly drew her phaser. She emerged slightly from her cover and pointed it at the creature though the trembling
of her hand threatened to send any shot wide. Fear coiled itself around her heart and lungs. Her breathing shallowed and quickened in tempo while a thin layer of sweat dampened the back of her uniform and the top of her head.
Fenn: ::voice pitched higher:: Commander...orders?
Kovar / Marshall: Response
