The sudden arrival of Alorr the grahty had led Vylaa and Doz inside the Azetbur, where they found Alorr very focused on an equipment panel.  It couldn’t be brushed off on the next shift, they just hoped it wasn’t something alive.  Or worse, dead.

zh’Tisav: It’s bad enough my grahty keeps getting loose, but animals from Iana getting in?  And what would it be?  I don’t think they have a vermin problem, unless you count Klingons…  ::Pause.::  What are you doing?

Finch: Seemed impolite not to knock first. ::She laughed, wrinkles deepening.:: Right then! Gird your loins, Vylaa! I’ll pull it off.

zh’Tisav: What does my back… ::She shook her head.  Clearly it was a human idiom that didn’t have an Andorian version.:: Okay, I’m ready.

Vylaa knelt low, ready should anything, dead or alive, come flying out.  She nodded to Doz, and the panel came off…

An nothing happened.  Vylaa wasn’t sure what she had hoped would happen, maybe a swarm of rodents?  But the space behind, devoid of anything but machinery, was a bit lack-luster.

zh’Tisav:  That’s it?

Finch: That’s it.

She huffed.

zh’Tisav: But do you hear that?

Alorr: Mr-ow.

The felines ears were now flicking rapidly.

zh’Tisav: You hear it, right?

Alorr: Mrrrrr...

zh’Tisav: It’s like insect wings, really high pitched.  Something’s off in there.

Finch: It is like insect wings, now that you mention it. But these things are sealed ever so tightly once they're shut, ::she tapped a seam,:: so it can’t be an actual insect in there, surely.

The human peered inside.

zh’Tisav: Anything?

Finch: It's no good, love. We'll have to pull everything out onto the floor here and have a proper good look through it all.

zh'Tisav: Oh joy… ::Looks at the grahty.::  Because you couldn’t stay in our quarters we have more work to do.  Thanks…

The feline sat up straight, as if expecting a treat.

Alorr: Mrrrrrp.

zh’Tisav: Smarta** cat.

She started emptying out everything that wasn’t bolted down.  The space behind the panel was primarily for accessing some of the crafts systems, but space was always a premium on a small craft, so it also doubled as as storage cabinet.  Soon the floor in front of them bore tool kits, pre-packed go-bags, and even some emergency supplies.

Finch: Response

zh’Tisav: The rest is built into the ship.  There’s the port subprocessor underneath and access to a sensor pallet behind the hull.  If I were a betting zhen, I look in there first, although… ::She picked up a ration pack.;:  Some of this stuff is nearly out of date and questionable.

Finch: response

The Andorian picked up her tricorder to run a preliminary scan.  Nothing major stood out.  Nothing that would set off any alarms, literal or otherwise.

zh’Tisav: It is a bit warm.  Warmer than I’d expect for a docked ship but not world shattering.  Maybe it’s an EM hum…

Finch: Response
