Taelon: Everyone lies! Just like we all understand the damn concept!

V'Lar noted the Lieutenant's emotional outburst. His vocal tone was elevated, his respiration had increased, and, worst of all, his argument was based on a logical fallacy.

oO We may have unknown forces attempting to kill us but hasty and false generalisations will not improve the situation. He has committed a fundamental error in logic. He has extrapolated his personal experience into an absolute universal. Such a reaction would never have occured on my last posting. Oo

She considered re-wording her point in order to help her colleague understand but, given his apparent emotional volatility, she felt it best to say nothing, not wishing for him to get any more excited than he already was.

Sevo: Calm down, Lieutenant! It’s fine. We understand what you’re getting at, Commander. ::She said to V’Lar.:: I don’t think we’ll have a choice anyway, unless the Admiral can get us back under control. ::She looked at Quinn hopefully.::

oO It is disagreeable that, despite terminating the system intrusion we remain likely to still crash anyway. Oo

Her plan had relied on the Admiral being able to restore control of the vessel but to simulate and unplanned landing so that, when their adversaries came to check on them, they could be ready for them, ideally with a security detachment from the Gorkon.

Reynolds: It’s not fine. Everyone shut up and brace for impact.

Although the choice of words could have been more diplomatic, V'Lar was content with the relative conciseness of the command. There was little for her to do in order to comply with the order, she remained prepared following her previous guidance. She observed the final, desperate maneuvers as the Admiral attempted to put them down as safely as possible, then there was the scream of stressed metal, and the sickening lurch as the cruiser made contact with the rooftop. The impact was significant, a chaotic transfer of kinetic energy that sent unrestrained bodies and objects tumbling through the cabin. She had anticipated that own preparations would allow her to absorb the impact with a somewhat controlled discipline, there was however only so much grace that one could achieve whilst crashing into a building. There was the shattering of a viewport and her head snapped to one side, almost immediately she felt the weight of the much larger Lieutenant Taelon and a moment later a dislodged chair.

Taelon: Goddess - are you all - okay?

The chaos subsided, replaced by the hiss of smoke and the groan of damaged and strained metal. V'Lar blinked, her El-Aurien crewmate was pinning her against a broken side window, she felt the sting of lacerations. She touched her right hand to her face, registering a minor sensation of pain, her fingers coming back with a slight coating of her green Vulcan blood. Before responding to address her own status, she ran a quick internal diagnostic to determine if she had any injuries worth reporting.

oO No broken bones, no apparent internal damage, some minor contusions, multiple small cuts. Oo

Reynolds: ::Muffled,:: I’m in one piece.

V’Lar: I am largely unharmed. ::To Taelon:: Lieutenant, I will require you to move.

Taelon: Sorry, one -

V'Lar watched as Taelon braced his legs against the side door which was now directly above them given the orientation of the craft. He began to kick the door, attempting to force an exit. After a few kicks the door finally budged and with Taelon now beginning to extricate himself, she was able to retrieve her medkit. She accepted his hand, using it to allow her to more easily reorientate herself.

Sevo: Wha — what’s going on? Where are we?

The Trill's speech sounded slurred, her words confused. V'Lar immediately identified the symptoms of a potential concussion.

Reynolds: Hold on, Sevo. We’ll get you out of here.

V'Lar became concerned that the Admiral might attempt to move her without a proper assessment of her injuries, whilst Sevo was conscious, it was possible she might have a spinal injury.

V'Lar: Commander Sevo is exhibiting symptoms of a concussion, please wait before attempting to move her.

Taelon: Response

Sevo: I… uh…

Reynolds: Taelon, raise the Gorkon. We need to get her to sickbay. ::She frowned.:: We could probably all do with a trip to sickbay.

The Admiral had given the correct order. Thanks to Taelon, V'Lar was now free and moving to better assess the Trill's injuries.

Taelon: Response

V’Lar: Commander Sevo, you have sustained a head injury and I believe you are suffering from a concussion. Remain still.

Sevo: Con… help… wha…?

The Commander's fragmented words confirmed her diagnosis, she opened her medical tricorder, separating the hand scanner and running it close to the Trill's skull. The readings indicated an intracranial hematoma, a collection of blood inside the skull. In this case it appeared to be caused by bleeding from an artery or a large vein, in this case an artery, located between the skull and the outer layer of tissue covering the brain.

V’Lar: I am detecting signs of epidural hematoma. Your probability of a full recovery is high however you will require minor brain surgery. Remain calm.

Satisfied with her diagnosis she needed to move to treatment. For such an injury it was necessary to locate and repair the artery and, if needed, retrieve the pressure by draining the excess blood. She reached into her medkit, retrieving the anabolic protoplaser.

Taelon: Response

Reynolds: Looks like a micro-transmitter coupled with a small processing device. ::She turned it back and forth, but there were no identifying marks.:: It was attached to the main comms block.

V'Lar registered the Admiral's report on the transmitter. Her immediate and full attention remained on her patient. With practiced ease, V'Lar loaded her hypospray with analgine, setting the device to deliver a 20cc dosage and pressing the hypospray to the Trill's neck, injecting the analgesic into the carotid artery. As she pulled the hypospray away she seamlessly ejected the vial of analgine and swapped it out with another vial, substituting it with tricordrazine should a stimulant be needed.

V'Lar: Admiral, whilst I can carry out treatment of her injury here, my preference would be to conduct the operation in a proper medical facility, ideally, those of the Gorkon.

Her hands moved with precision as she configured the anabolic protoplaser, not waiting for a response.

Sevo / Taelon: Response

Reynolds: Right then. Let’s get back to the Gorkon, before anyone turns up and tries to finish us off.

Sevo / Taelon: Response

V'Lar: I will need a moment to stabilise Commander Sevo for transport.

She passed the protoplaser along a small section of the Trill's skull attempting to carry out sufficient repairs to the artery to stem the blood loss, buying more time for the far more delicate work that was to come.

Reynolds / Sevo / Taelon: Response

She switched back to her tricorder, checking to see the results of her first pass with the protoplaser, the readings indicating that the artery had been repaired by 86%, further work would be required but it was an acceptable start and would dramatically decrease the amount of blood accumulating within the Lieutenant Commander's skull.

V'Lar: Commander Sevo is sufficiently stabilised and is ready for transport, I suggest we transport directly to sickbay.

Reynolds / Sevo / Taelon: Response

Awaiting the imminent transport, V'Lar promptly stowed her equipment in her medkit. Moments later she experienced the sensation of slight static as the transporter process began.
