(( Beachside - Unnamed Planet - Time Index: Early 2367 ))

Lena’s, ex-Borg Lena, intel had been correct. The Borg Sphere Finch and her company had stolen had the means to travel back into time. So far, they had not discovered who the Borg had stolen the technology from, but it gave them, the Gorkon crew, the opportunity to restore what had gone wrong and hopefully return to their own timeline. And thus using that technology the Gorkon and its crew had travelled back into time, towards the early 2367 in the Borgtimeline.

Arriving in 2367 gone were the signs of the Borg, so it meant they were on the correct track. According to the data they had acquired from Unimatrix Seventeen, Johnson would do something a few days from now that would give the Borg the upperhand in this timeline. So here she was together with Lieutenant zh’Tisav and Ensign Pace to track down the commodore and to stop his actions.

She took in the salty air as she took a deep breath. The threesome stood at the edge of a sandy beach, on their right rocks rose from the water and formed a tall mountain range. The beach continued to their left and behind them, a forest with tall trees loomed. Waves gently crushed against the seashore and she took another deep breath. 2367 the year she was born. She’d been so busy the past few days, nor did she do a real search for what had happened to her family or herself in this Borgtimeline. So who knew if she even existed here or would exist.

Samira turned towards zh’Tisav and Pace.

Neathler: The planet is uninhabited but the Gorkon’s sensors could not detect any human life signs, so either he or something in his location is blocking his signal.

zh’Tisav / Pace: Response

She looked up at the tall trees behind the duo. This would be haven for Ko to let him wander for a while. If there weren’t any predator animals around that was. She ruffled her short black hair, as she observed the forest. Samira couldn’t discern any trail or road, maybe over there the plantation seemed a bit less dense.

Reynolds: =/\= Reynolds to Neathler. How’s the weather?=/\=

Neathler: =/\= Perfect for a stroll along the beach, the crew would love it here. Maybe that’s why Johnson picked this location to setup camp. =/\=

zh’Tisav / Pace: =/\= Response =/\=

Reynolds: =/\= It’s unlikely that Johnson’s camp is where the Nassau survivors found it—he may not have set it up yet—but our science department tracked one set of chronometric particles to the same planet. He’s there, somewhere..=/\=

Neathler: =/\= We’ll find him, we’ll start with continuous scans for his lifesign and track down those particles.=/\=

zh’Tisav / Pace: =/\= Response =/\=

Reynolds: =/\= Well, I don’t think you’re going to get a precise location given how degraded the trail was, and there’s a good chance Johnson will see you coming given the tech he stole. It’s going to be a challenge, but that’s what we’re good at. =/\=

Neathler: =/\= We’ll be quiet, or try to be. =/\=

If the Gorkon sensors hadn’t picked up any human life signs, it had picked up several others. So who knew what animals they’d come across. Preferably the friendly kind.

zh’Tisav / Pace: =/\= Response =/\=

Reynolds: =/\= Happy hunting. =/\=

Before Samira could say something in return she heard the comlink closing. She reached for her tricorder and compared their current location with the last trace of the chronometric particles the ship’s sensors had picked up. If they wanted to know a general direction of where to go to, they had to follow the last trace of those particles before they dissipated completely.

Neathler: Well, so much for getting a tan. ::She pointed with her tricorder into the forest.:: We’re heading inland.

The trees blocked most of the sun, but the temperature was acceptable for a hike. And at least they didn’t have to start with climbing those mountains. Though the terrain ahead of them looked rough too, with fallen trees, red moss that covered rocks and trees and branches.

zh’Tisav / Pace: Response

Neathler: If you need a break or a breather, let me know and I’ll do the same.

zh’Tisav / Pace: Response

A final look on her tricorder and she picked an non-existing path between two trees, ducking under the low branches that would otherwise hit her.

Neathler: I’ve never been on a planet like this before, untouched by technology and the likes I mean, have you?

zh’Tisav / Pace: Response
