::Even trapped in an alternate universe, hiding from the Dominion while carrying out desperate repairs on the ship, the Gorkon's captain still had meetings. Whole days of them, scheduled by her yeoman. Skyfire, Blair, Isidorus, Brunsig… the list went on. And on.

::And on.

::Right now, she was due to see Chythar Skyfire, and she was quite certain it was him pressing the chime on her ready room doors.::

Reynolds: Come in.

::He stepped inside. Clean and neatly pressed, he had apparently decided to start growing a neat little beard. Why not?::

Skyfire: Morning, Captain. 

::He offered her a wan smile, and she returned it. She wasn't really looking forward to this conversation.::

Reynolds: Good morning. Feel free to grab yourself a drink, then take a seat.

::She gestured toward the replicator in her office, and he nodded a thanks. A minute later, he took a seat, a steaming cup of coffee in his hands. Her tea sat half-drunk on the desk by her console, forgotten and cold.::

Reynolds: How have you been finding your new post? 

Skyfire: I admit, I've been finding the transition difficult. With this last mission, my ambition to eventually upgrade my chair to one of those spiffy captain's chairs has decreased by a lot. To be perfectly honest, I miss my teal collar. Working with doctor Vee made me realize how much I miss it.

::Quinn nodded, a little surprised by how relieved she was to hear it. It would make what she was about to say so much easier.::

Reynolds: If I can be honest in return, I think that's where you're at your best. This isn't to say you haven't done a good job as First Officer, but I've noticed that you don't have the same… enthusiasm for it. 

Skyfire: response

::He had studied science at the academy, and had briefly served as a science officer at the start of his career. That was a flexibility she could use right about now, and she had just the post in mind.::

Reynolds: Unfortunately, there's not the room in medical to accommodate you as a full-time doctor. But I know that's not all you're capable of, so I'd like to transfer you to the post of Mission Specialist. 

Skyfire: response

Reynolds: I'm sure Commander Vess would be happy to work out a part-time shift schedule for you. I know you'll need some clinical time to keep your skills fresh, and I'm know he'll appreciate the extra hand.

Skyfire: response

::It was inevitable that he'd be curious about who would be replacing him, and she felt a little guilty. With everything that had happened, she hadn't had the chance to sit down and talk to him before Blair arrived.::

Reynolds: Commander Blair would be assuming the role of First Officer. ::She paused, and her voice softened, apologetic.:: I meant to speak with you about this much sooner, but things have been… chaotic, to say the least.
