((Transport Shuttle Akari, en route to the USS Gorkon))

Avoi: Isn’t this exciting!

The Betazoid woman had not shut up since they boarded the transport. Nor had she stopped obsessively checking her hair and makeup, adjusting perceived imperfections (all so incredibly miniscule that Xandria didn't have a clue what the problem was) and enthusing over their new posting.

Not that Xandria could entirely blame her, it was an exciting posting. And named for a Klingon, besides! Four dull (though necessary) years at the Academy, and she was starting to feel like she'd never have a chance to make her name, bring honor to her family. Maybe even—

Avoi: It’s a flagship, so naturally the Gorkon has twenty four decks, but you wouldn’t expect anything less than that with a crew complement of over six hundred and five, and that doesn’t even take into consideration any guests it has onboard!

Had she memorized the whole ship's history? Did she think they were incapable of reading all this for themselves?

She watched the woman with the crescent-moon-curls touch up her makeup, again, and absently ran a hand over her own hair. Slicked back, in a neat bun, every strand precisely in place like it always was when she was on duty. She hadn't checked it out of need, just because it felt like…well, with Princess Redshirt over there preening, it felt like the thing to do.

Avoi: It even has six transporter rooms, perfect for delegations, or ambassadorial visits, or even the occasional political gala. ::grinning toward the others:: Of course, only the best for the ship that watches over the Tyrellian commonwealth. Now they’re a species with some fascinating customs.

Ylvor: Response

Cain: Yes, species usually have customs.

She had definitely not meant for that to be an invitation for the woman to continue dumping information on them, and yet…

Avoi: They have a monarchy, but of course it has no executive power in modern day Tyrellia. ::her eyes widened and flicked between the others and her small mirror:: But their relevance is not to be understated. The Kādari is still very much revered—not to mention the parties, and the outfits. Just divine!

Ylvor: Response

Now, Xandria could appreciate good fashion and parties. She didn't look it, not in uniform, but when the shifts changed… then she might fuss a bit over her appearance, try on a lavish outfit, have a good time. But here, en route to her first real Starfleet assignment, on a cramped transport with little more than a row of seats and a few odd companions? The woman's obsessive appearance-keeping was a bit much (though, she would never dare to admit, her enthusiasm for the ship was almost—almost, mind you—endearing).

Avoi: I see you’re both wearing gold. Quite dashing!

Ylvor: Response

Well, since she wasn't going to just shut up, might as well seize the opportunity to change the subject. Tear away from the Tourist's Guide to the USS Gorkon, actually get to know her traveling companions and new shipmates.

Cain: Xandria Cain. That's Xandria, like Alexandria, but hold the "ale," I prefer bloodwine. ::She shot her companions a crooked grin.:: Security and tactical, for me. And you all are…?

Ylvor/Avoi: Response

Satisfied that introductions were out of the way, Xandria nudged her fellow phaser fodder, the petite Trill, with her elbow. She honestly didn't look like much, kind of small for a security officer, but Xandria knew looks could be deceiving. Hell, she herself didn't look like she could swing a bat'leth with any skill, and yet…

Cain: Two of us on one transport, that Gorkon must be really going through the gold shirts, huh?

Ylvor/Avoi: Response

If the Gorkon was going through security officers (who knew), she hoped she at least had a chance to do something memorable and good first. She’d love to have her great, honorable death a little later in life.

Cain: So, is this everyone's first 'Fleet assignment?

Ylvor/Avoi: Response
