((QIn’HuD Mines, veHrom’nagh))

Gnaxac took a deep breath as the lift came to a sudden and total stop, causing them to practically spill into a vast cavern. They could see obvious signs of mining, as well as plenty of tunnels of various sizes in practically every direction. Basso had her map out, ploughing on despite her injuries. Gnaxac felt a slight sense of pride in her and in Starfleet, and then he remembered that a similar headstrong ploughing ahead attitude was expected of him. His stomach dropped.

Gnaxac: Why would they c-c-come here?

Basso: To hide where least expected?

Finch: Quite possibly! Though I wouldn’t choose this place myself.

Pace: Response

Basso: We should remain within eye shot of each other. With the twist and turns here, it is easy to get separated. Especially if our comm badges were to be disrupted.

Finch: Agreed! We’ll stick together this time.

Gnaxac nodded enthusiastically; he liked that idea. Sticking together was what good Ferengi syrup waffles, and Starfleet officers, did. Especially in difficult circumstances like the once they currently found themselves in.

Pace: Response

Gnaxac looked around at the various tunnels and caves and caverns that surrounded them. He saw that Basso was busy setting up a trail back to the lift - a very important job. Always knowing where the way out is was practically the Ferengi engineer’s motto.

Basso: Where do we even start?

Finch: Well! We can either follow our instinct or see if there is any evidence of the heirs having been here. Any clues, any points of interest, perhaps a cavern or something like that.

Gnaxac flipped out his tricorder and began scanning. He input the various biometric data that they currently had access to (which wasn’t much, but wasn’t nothing either) and started scanning around for it. Currently, there was nothing in the immediate vicinity; which was slightly disheartening.

Gnaxac: Nothing in this area; b-b-but maybe they transported further in.

Pace  / Basso: Response

Doz smiled, but somehow Gnaxac didn’t quite believe it. He had a feeling she found the large gaping mouths in the stone as intimidating as he did.

Finch: Let’s start walking in this direction shall we? We can run scans along the way.

Gnaxac nodded once, and shook his tricorder in a tiny response that said:

Gnaxac: Sure thing!

Pace  / Finch / Basso: Response

Gnaxac followed along in the wake of Doz and the rest of the team, and as they entered the mouth of the nearest cave, he tried to suppress his natural curiosity. Some of the mining was impeccably done, with much of the digging and removal seemingly done by a gentle hand. It was not something he had grown to expect from Klingons, but then the knowledge he had of Klingon mining techniques could be written on the back of a tube grub.

Gnaxac: This mining t-t-tech is impressive.

Pace  / Finch / Basso: Response
