((Ayiana’s and Cory’s Quarters, Deck 3 - USS Gorkon - Beta-15187 Dust Cloud))
Stoyer: Whatever happens, we will tackle it together.
Ayiana smiled at him. Sometimes, he really had his moments.
Sevo: Not just us, but the whole crew.
Cory nodded in agreement.
Stoyer: Yeah.
Sevo: Oh man, the crew. Most of the crew is relatively new. They’ve heard stories of Over There, but never lived through anything like it. Not even Skarbek compares. It’s not actually real.
Stoyer: I think this will be worse.
Sevo: I wonder how many of them are scared? I mean, like stunned silent; broken-into-hysterics terrified? Like how we were shortly after we were trapped Over There. Remember?
Stoyer: No telling right now.
Sevo: You know, they’ll be relying on us veteran experiences to help get through this. And we are getting through this.
Stoyer: I know we will. But there will be a cost.
There was always a cost. She knew that of the hundreds of people on the ship right now, a good portion probably wouldn’t make it home. There was already a monument to the 413 lost Over There, and she feared another would be placed next to it for this one.
Stoyer: We will look after each other.
Sevo: Don’t you dare say “or die trying.” You and I are not dying.
Stoyer: Response
Sevo: I hope we get some more details soon of the situation here. As odd as it sounds, I’m getting tired of just sitting here. I want to *do something.*
Stoyer: Response
