((Bridge, USS Gemini))
::T'Mar turned her attention to the view screen which showed the Garridon System. Her first thoughts had gone to the rogue Klingon, Koval. Something deep inside her knew that they had not seen the last of him yet. But the lack of red alert and the fact that she had not been fired upon implied that the situation was not one that entailed a space battle.::
T'Mar: If I may inquire, what brings the Gemini so close to Klingon space?
Blair: We are responding to a distress call which we recently discovered was send by Commander Weston.
:: She always appreciated when her colleagues did not "beat around the bush" as the saying went. In this case, Blair just went full in to tell her that Weston was in trouble. That was the heart of the matter, but T'Mar still wanted to know why he was out here and what type of trouble he was in. Knowing him, it was likely a large amount of trouble that would not be easy to get out of.::
Frost: Seems pretty serious. Whatever is happening there has him pretty unnerved, Which is saying something considering it's Oliver.
Morgan: It's a storm of some kind, with power behind it I've never seen before.
Adyr: Add to that the fact that we know almost nothing about this planet and we've got a doozy of a situation.
::T'Mar looked at the Trill, briefly wondering why she looked familiar before realizing she had seen her on the Apollo before. She had tried to get caught up on the Gemini's crew manifest changes and updates from the time she had left, but unfortunately there was quite a lot that she had missed. The was a twinge of regret that entered her mind, but she mentally shook it out.::
T'Mar: I see. Intriguing, indeed. Have you been able to establish any further contact?
Frost: Nothing useful. Whatever he's worried about is running hell all over our communications. Took hours just to figure out who was sending the signal in the first place.
Morgan: We just had to figure out what was causing the interference, which only made it so we have a more dire situation. It look a long time to figure it out, which just means our time is growing short now.
T'Mar: I agree. How can I best assist you?
Frost: Honestly, it would be faster to tell you the things that wouldn't be helpful.
Blair: We really don’t know much about the planet, who’s down there, and what they are doing there. It would be helpful if you could help us get some answers.
::T'Mar nodded. She was open to helping anywhere, although engineering was probably the place that she would be the least helpful as she was by no means an engineer. Wherever they needed her, she would go. In this case, finding information was her specialty in her position.::
T'Mar: I believe I can assist with that, although if Weston is there then it is likely intelligence related.
Morgan: We're still digging out more questions, let alone finding too many answers.
Adyr: I can tell you with some certainty that there's no official anything on that planet. The location, however, makes it useful as something more, unofficial.
:: T'Mar noticed that Alex seemed like he was going to say more, but he was pulled away by an alert. It was something she was all too familiar with from her time as First Officer.::
Blair: ::looking to Frost:: Captain, I’ve just received a transmission from the USS Gandymede. We have a new engineer en route who will be here in a few minutes.
Frost: See if you can get him onboard and to work ASAP.
Blair: I’d be more than happy to meet the ensign down in the shuttle bay sir.
Frost: See to it. Once you're down there, start making preparations for a rescue mission. You're in charge of getting our people, and anyone else we find out of there.
:: There was a pause before Liam spoke up again. He seemed to really take charge, which was great because they needed direction.::
Frost: Alright, folks. It goes without saying that this is now a rescue mission. We're going after one of our own, and we're going to bring him back safely.
:: T'Mar nodded, knowingly. Weston could get himself into real trouble sometimes, but they were not about to let him get into more than he could handle.::
Frost: Cayden, T'Mar, I want you to try and dig up as much information on Garridon as you can, as well as any officers that may have been assigned there. No detail is too small.
T'Mar: Aye, sir.
Adyr: Aye, sir.
Frost: Once we arrive, T'Mar, I want you to put together a team to accompany Alex. You're in charge of security. Take Kali, Randal, the new chap, and prepare for an emergency planetfall. The marines are at your disposal as well.
::Security was her fall back. She knew it well and was quite comfortable with it. T'Mar nodded to Liam, showing she understood and would take it head on.::
T'Mar: Thank you, sir.
::Liam continued issuing orders, but T'Mar had already moved on in her mind of what she needed to focus on. She made her way over to the Trill woman whom she was assigned to work with.::
T'Mar: Do you have any thoughts?
::Cayden nodded slightly.::
Adyr: I have some ideas, but nothing really solid. The only real information on the planet was a somewhat recent survey of the system done by the USS Newton about a year ago.
T'Mar: There must be more, though. I'm no intel office, but the location of this seems suspicious to me.
Adyr: I have a theory, .but no real proof other than Weston being down there. Our position in relation to the Empire's borders pretty much spells out what we're doing on Garridon V. At least it does in my head.
T'Mar: It sounds as if your thoughts are aligned with my own. An intelligence outpost for use on the Klingon border.
::Starfleets insistance on spying on their enemies never ceased to amaze her. After everything that had happened in the Borderlands, it would be wise to not antagonize the Klingons, but Starfleet apparently disagreed.::
