((Landing Area, Surface of Garridon V))
::With things semi-settled in the area, Alex took a
mental assessment of the situation and then began issuing instructions to his
team.::
Blair: Carr and Mayne you stay here and keep this area clear of creatures.
Carr/Mayne: response
Blair: Inde get to work on those lights. Coordinate with the ‘locals’ to get the supplies you need, but get those lights up quickly.
Inde: response
::As he turned to face the next person on his mental list, Alex could feel his frustration swell a little.::
oO Calm down, don’t let your anger get the best of you. Oo
Blair: Ensign you’ve caused enough trouble for now. Stay aboard the Scott with Mister Shayne, you are going to be his co-pilot. And I mean stay inside this time.
::Instead of responding, the ensign wordlessly vanished inside the shuttle. Once she was gone, Alex looked at the remaining people.::
Blair: T’Mar, Larson, Doctor we’ll go with Weston.
T’Mar/Larson/Nicholotti: response
Weston: Everyone ready?
::Alex looked toward the other man draped in a cloak.::
Blair: My shuttle’s at your disposal. Load as many of your people in it as you can. We don’t know how many of these trips we will be able to make.
Bartholomew: response
Blair: Okay Oliver, lead the way.
::As they started following Oliver to the Command Center, Alex realized two things. First, as promised, the facility wasn’t that far away, and second the weather made almost everything a thousand times harder than they should have been.::
oO I never knew that I hated rain before, but then I’ve never been in a storm like this one before either. Oo
::Since the rain had picked up quite a bit, the small group walked in silence for a few more moments. Alex lifted his right foot in order to take another step when it happened. Seemingly out of nowhere, Alex heard a shriek then a sound he would most likely never forget. Running purely on instinct, Alex turned to look where the sound was coming from.::
Blair: Oh my!
T’Mar/Larson/Nicholotti/Weston: response
::As he spun around Alex could make out the shuttle. He looked more and noticed something moving atop the craft. Alex started moving towards the vessel and as he got closer the situation became both more clear and more unbelievable.::
Blair: That looks like one of those creatures!
T’Mar/Larson/Nicholotti/Weston: response
::Happening where he had been only minutes before, one of the natives of Garridon V had returned to the landing area and was now ripping duranium panels from the top of the shuttlecraft. Each time the beast pulled a panel off, a shower of sparks went flying out of the ship.::
oO This is no good, no good at all! Oo
::Moving as fast as he could, Alex slapped his combadge.::
Blair: =/\= Shayne, Moore get out of there! That thing’s going to tear the shuttle apart! =/\=
Moore/Shayne: response
Blair: =/\= Carr, Mayne, what’s the plan? We can’t just let that thing tear the Scott apart! =/\=
Carr/Mayne: response
::Alex shook his head and addressed the officers that were running with him.::
Blair: We have to do something! Our whole evac plan depends on that shuttle maintaining its space worthiness!
T’Mar/Larson/Nicholotti/Weston: response
