(( USS-Gemini, Deck One, bridge ))
Riel: If we want to evacuate everyone on the planet in the next few hours, we'll need to send every shuttle we can as soon as the away team has secured a landing location. Better get the engines running.
Es-Aleh: Don't envy the pilots.
:: True. The flying through the storms could prove problematic. They only had one Shayne, after all. And one Frost, who was certainly thinking about going himself, and should stop this very second, because that was out of the question. ::
Frost: Response?
Morgan: With each passing moment, the storms get worse...I'm not sure it will be possible to land the shuttles much longer.
Riel: Well, that's not my field of expertise at all, but... could unmanned shuttles and beam-guiding do the trick?
Frost: Response?
Es-Aleh: Normally, I'd think it was a good plan, but with the interference out there? :: Shaking her head with an apologetic shrug :: I'd be happy to be wrong, but I'd honestly not recommend it.
:: Es-Aleh had just voiced the truth, and Lan knew it. Flying in that inferno was going to be an ordeal. And they had not enough pilots onboard who had the skills to make it in one piece. ::
Morgan: I think there's something to be said for a real pilot who can use their skills to do what a computer might not be able to...
Riel: Including that they are not as easily replaced.
:: He frowned at his own outburst of cynicism. Maybe Frost was starting to contaminate him... ::
Frost: Response?
Morgan: Either way, we need to do something, and we need to do it quickly.
Frost/Es-Aleh: Response?
Riel: Unfortunately, sir. Sometimes it stinks to be the good guys. Calling for all volunteers at your command.
Morgan/Frost/Es-Aleh: Response?
:: Alarms from tactical, then comms, interrupted this bleak moment. ::
Morgan/Frost/Es-Aleh: Response?
Riel: Incoming message. Sir, that's a Starfleet ID! Patching it through.
Cody: =^= USS Gemini. This is the USS Daedalus, NX-69510, Commander David Cody, temporarily commanding. =^=
Frost: Response?
:: It was something he didn't do very often these days, but Riel silently thanked the Providers. Another ship meant other shuttles, other pilots... ::
Cody/Morgan/Es-Aleh: Response? (OOC: make it last as long as you wish, I will backsim if needed)
Riel: Well, I don't want to jinx it or anything, but that's the best news I've heard during a mission for quite...
:: Which was, of course, about just the moment when the probes started reporting alarming news. ::
