((USS Gemini, Bridge))

Riel: Well, that's not my field of expertise at all, but... could unmanned shuttles and beam-guiding do the trick?

Frost: ?

Es-Aleh: Normally, I'd think it was a good plan, but with the interference out there? ::shaking her head with an apologetic shrug:: I'd be happy to be wrong, but I'd honestly not recommend it.

Morgan: I think there's something to be said for a real pilot who can use their skills to do what a computer might not be able to...

Riel: Including that they are not as easily replaced.

:: He frowned at his own outburst of cynicism. Maybe Frost was starting to contaminate him... ::

Frost: Response?

Morgan: Either way, we need to do something, and we need to do it quickly.

:: Which was hardly a newsflash. Still, thinking of options was pretty much what they were here for, and Gina was doing what she could alongside her scans of the area.::

Frost: ?

Riel: Unfortunately, sir. Sometimes it stinks to be the good guys. Calling for all volunteers at your command.

:: And given the nature of the people that were going to be asked, they'd get them. Gina was about to say something when something very weird started showing up on her scans. It was a long way off - for now - but the rate it was closing was... well, pretty frakkin' fast.::

Morgan/Frost: ?

:: What distance there'd been between the Gemini and what was coming had disappeared fast, but the incoming thing didn't overshoot. Instead, it dropped back to sublight speeds as it entered the system - and did it with the sort of abruptness that had Gina wincing in semi-sympathy. A crash deceleration like that was going to have left a mark.::

:: The sudden arrival didn't go unannounced, of course, with sharp alarms sounding as the computer reacted to what was happening.

Es-Aleh: A ship just dropped out of warp, and it dropped *hard*.

Morgan/Frost: ?

Riel: Incoming message. Sir, that's a Starfleet ID! Patching it through.

Cody: =^= USS Gemini. This is the USS Daedalus, NX-69510, Commander David Cody, temporarily commanding. =^=

Frost: ?

Es-Aleh: Confirming Starfleet IFF. Don't recognise the configuration, but it's showing as friendly.

:: And that was a nice thing to learn. Another Starfleet ship meant extra resources, which in turn meant a better chance of getting everyone off of the ground and to something more closely resembling safety.::

:: Of course, there was a saying or several about things being too good to be true, which was why she was working up a passive lock on the new arrival. Just in case.::

Cody/Morgan: ?

Riel: Well, I don't want to jinx it or anything, but that's the best news I've heard during a mission for quite...

:: Another beep sounded from her console, and she glared at the readings she was seeing in undisguised annoyance.::

Es-Aleh: Bunnies!

:: A word that she somehow managed to make sound like one of the more potent curses in her repertoire. Something she could thank the Romulan/Vulcan delinquent she'd left behind on Til'ahn.::

Es-Aleh: Probes report a major problem on the ground. One of the outpost's small craft just took a hit from what looks like lightning.

Frost/Morgan/Riel: ?

Es-Aleh: It's currently a smoking hole in the ground, and I have no idea if anyone was caught in the blast.

Frost/Morgan/Riel: ?
