((OOC - this is a short one, just to wrap this scene))

(( Holodeck 3, Deck 222, Deep Space 224 ))

Computer: =/\= Hull breach imminent =/\=

A stumble and fall from Jovenan, a tumble over her and her patient by Hiro and the Kelpian he'd been carrying, a flurry of activity - handing off the holographic CMO, grabbing Jovenan and collapsing into the pod just as the hatch sealed behind them. The pod launched, and Hiro and Jovenan watched the injured woman watching them go ... until the ship blew. Hiro felt Jovenan collapse next to him into a sobbing crumple. A moment later, there was a knock on the pod's exterior.

Yalu: =/\= Computer, end simulation. =/\=

The blackness of space vanished and all that remained in the room were four officers. Commander Yalu tapped his PADD thoughtfully, then gave a proud nod.

Yalu: Congratulations, everyone. You’ve completed Evacuation Training Simulation 41-Alpha. Your department chief and executive officer will receive an abstract of your results once the evaluation is complete. Does anyone have any questions?

Jones: ::exhausted:: None here, sir.

Jovenan: No, sir.

Yalu: Hopefully, you’ll never need to evacuate a ship under such extreme conditions. However, emergency exercises like these do remind us that the biggest test is often inside our minds. You’ve all performed your duties admirably under adverse circumstances.

Hiro didn't feel particularly admirable. They'd lost a lot of lives. Sure, they were holograms, and not actual people, but as someone dedicated to the preservation of life, even this simulation was a lot. It looked like Jovenan was taking it even harder though.

Yalu: You’re all free to go. Enjoy your time on DS224. I hope to see you all again soon.

And that was it. Jovenan was the first to leave, and Hiro was pretty sure she was still crying. Hiro looked to Genkos, nodded, then headed back to his quarters for some rest. He really hoped a situation like this would never get more real than a holosuite simulation. He wasn't sure how "admirably" he could perform if the stakes were higher.
