OOC: I choose this location because as far as I know it is the best lab we have. I don't know if the task force had already start its job or not, Drex would not participate to a big meeting, but I'd like him to be part of the teams. So... let's start from here, ok?

((SOS Lab, Deck 10, USS Eagle))

Drex sat absorbed in thought at one of the lab's perimeter consoles. He had tried, twice, to run analyses from his quarters, but the terminal there had proven frustratingly inadequate. Eventually, he had given up, emerging from the cocoon of his self-imposed isolation to seek the superior processing power of the astronomy lab.

Despite the passing of the days, and the strange -almost unnatural- quiet in his mind, the nightmares hadn't subsided. They haunted him every night, shapeless but vivid. And the memory, or rather the murky haze of half-remembered actions aboard the Romulan ship, returned intermittently, interrupting his concentration and shattering his attention.

Even now, as he watched the quantum field data collected by Commander DeVeau scroll across the screen, fragmented memories slid into his awareness. A dimly lit green corridor. A voice screaming at him to kill. Ayra's disappointed look.

He clenched his jaw and tried to refocus.

The readings were anomalous. Not that it was surprising since everything in the Killipaartalik Nebula was anomalous.

He leaned forward, typing a command to isolate the fluctuations. As he did so, the hairs on the back of his neck stood up. For a second, the waveform on the screen seemed... familiar. He slowly leaned back, the déjà vu already fading like smoke. Had he seen it during a late-night quantum mechanics lecture at the Academy? Or was it something stranger, an echo from a half-remembered episode of Kazzenger, buried deep in childhood memory? He couldn’t tell. And the not-knowing made it worse.

Across the room, the doors hissed open. Drex didn't look up.

Anyone: Response

Drex turned and looked at the officer standing in the doorway.

Drex: Reading through the sensor data we collected while we were there, along with the preliminary reports from those who’ve already started analyzing the nebula. Just trying to piece together what we actually know.

Anyone: Response

Drex: No... I was just... ::he exhales, trying to find the words:: I mean…yeah. Any help would be... helpful.

Anyone: Response
