((Eagle Outpost, Unknown Planet))
Her ability to mimic other people’s stances based on sight alone was lacking apparently.
Lim: Ah. ::She readjusted her stance based on his critique and tried again.:: Better?
Williams: That should do.
Despite his phrasing, Noemi could still tell he wasn’t completely satisfied. A “it meets the minimum” rather than “your stance is good”.
Williams: Don’t rush the shot. Let the weapon settle with your heartbeat — it steadies the aim more than you’d think.
Lim: Got it.
Noemi fired, and a narrow energy beam struck the second target on the table, grazing the side of a bowl and sending it wobbling but not off the table.
Williams: Not bad at all. First shot hit. Try for the centre this time; that should give it enough force to fall. Try again — let’s see if you can make it two for two.
Lim: :: Nodding:: Yes sir.
She adjusted her aim, both taking into account the new position of the of the bowl and where her aim had been off the first time. Once she was sure of her target she fired hitting the bowl in the center, sending it skittering off the table.
Lim: Yes. :: She fist pumped. :: Nailed it.
Williams: Response
Lim: So how many more attempts do you think I’ve got until I’ve got to pack it in?
Williams: Response
Noemi nodded and walked over to the table to reset the bowl and try again. Hopefully it would be enough attempts to get the feel for it before she’d have to stop.
