((Conference Room, USS Eagle-A))

When Epoma had gotten up this morning, a new species, terrorist attacks, a hostage/capture situation and then being rendered unconscious had been what she had expected to be dealing with.

She had to admit whatever the Federation people had done to knock them all out was good stuff, she had been out before she realized anything was happening. The one downside was the wake up process. She had begun to wake up during what she now recognizes as the rescue, but her artificial slumber was slow to release its hold and she hadn’t been able to fully regain consciousness until well after they had been transported to the Federation’s ship.

Once she had regained most of her facilities she had been escorted to a conference room aboard the ship to find Lieutenant Karen Stendhal, Zebba, and lastly Octil waiting inside. She only knew the priestess by reputation only, but it wasn’t a reassuring one. Epoma was still dealing with some lingering after effects, and so she probably looked like she felt which wasn’t a great start.

Adea: So, welcome to the USS Eagle, all of you. I am Captain Adea, and I will be mediating this discussion along with our counsellor here, Lieutenant Stendhal.

Epoma frowned slightly at the dropping of the ‘Genkos’ and ‘Karen’ from their names.

oO A strange way to conjugate. Oo

Stendhal: ::Karen offered a professional, measured nod to the assembled delegates. Her headache had subsided to a dull, manageable thrum, but the emotional 'stink' in the room—Epoma’s exhaustion, Zebba’s misplaced arrogance, and Octil’s guarded tension—was as clear as a readout on a tricorder. She kept her voice calm and clinical:: "Thank you, Captain. My role here is to ensure that communication remains clear and that we address the underlying concerns of all parties. We are here to listen, but more importantly, we are here to find a path forward that doesn't involve a planetary funeral.

Epoma: ::Tired:: Most appreciated.

Zebba / Octil: Response

Adea: I guess the first thing to establish is, what does everyone want… ::he raised a slender finger from the clutched hands:: baring in mind that in a true compromise, everyone will end up slightly dissatisfied.

Stendhal: ::Karen leaned back slightly, her dark eyes shifting from Epoma to Octil, gauging their reactions to the Captain's mention of 'dissatisfaction.' She spoke with a touch of her characteristic bluntness:: The Captain is right. Compromise is usually a bitter pill, but it’s better than the alternative.

Epoma: I would like whatever is happening on Ondo to be handled with the least amount of disruption to the planet and the Alomian people as possible.

Despite her lingering exhaustion she avoided vocalizing any disparagement towards those with differing opinions. She would listen and do her best to keep her emotions off of her face.

Zebba / Octil / Adea : Response

Stendhal: Before we look at technical solutions or political concessions, we need to be honest. Are we here to save a way of life, or are we here to save the lives themselves? Because at the current rate of terraforming, you may not have the luxury of choosing both.

Epoma: Saving the lives of course.

She was aghast at the idea of there being any other option.

Zebba / Octil / Adea / Stendhal: Response

Epoma: You and your followers are certainly welcome to stay and ‘meet the gods’ if that is what you wish, but we are not required to follow you into death.

Not the best way to phrase things when one was trying to be diplomatic, but Epoma was tired, from both the drugs and from this whole situation.

Zebba / Octil / Adea / Stendhal: Response
